General Description

Johnby Hall Studio is a gem of a place nestled within the environs of 14th century manor house Johnby Hall. Converted from the 17th century granary which later became Aunt Maud’s art studio, it now offered beautiful accommodation over two floors for two people.

The whole place has been thoughtfully designed for you to make the most of the history and magic of its ancient situation while still benefitting from all the comforts of a warm and welcoming modern home.

The front door takes you straight into the main living area with its oak floor, antique furniture and sumptuous textiles. A well-tuned grand piano graces the corner which you are welcome to play, with comfortable seating arranged either side. There is freeview TV.

The kitchen has a table for dining and is fully equipped with dishwasher, fridge, fan oven, halogen hobs, and plenty of storage space. There is also a washing machine (no tumble drier).

The bathroom is also downstairs and has an electric shower.

The open tread stairs with rope handrail open out to the bedroom with an amazingly comfy king-size bed with memory-foam mattress and antique furniture (some people think the huge wardrobe leads to Narnia). There is an additional single bed, also with memory-foam mattress (and the sofa downstairs can also be made into a sofa bed too).

Moving outside it's hard to know where to begin. There are enclosed formal gardens which are a wonderful sun trap when the weather allows, ideal for a morning cuppa or a sunset glass of wine! The rest of the shared grounds are a spellbinding world to explore. There's the walled orchard with apples, damsons, quinces and medlars where pheasants happily roam around, large lawns, a summer house with a magnificent panorama, woodland for your pooches to discover and last but certainly not least some exceedingly handsome pigs as neighbours (Johnby Hall houses a working farm).

Once you've turned up the driveway to this magical world I'm certain it will be a place you'll want to visit time and time again.
