We have stayed here lots of times now as we think it’s is a beautiful setting with loads of things to do nearby. Really amazing for young children!

We stayed at Johnby Hall Barn in early June 2021. It is a fantastic place to stay if you are after self-catering accommodation for a visit to the Lake District. The barn is very spacious with a huge kitchen/living area and two good size bedrooms. The whole place could not have been cleaner and the kitchen has everything you would need. The living area is very large and comfortable and the views from the massive windows are superb. We brought our one-year old and there were masses of toys for him (there's a big chest of toys in the living room and more toys and books in the second bedroom). Older kids would probably enjoy the bunk bed in the second bedroom. Anna and Henry were very welcoming and even left us some home-made cake, milk and bread for when we arrived. We were able to visit the animals on the farm whenever we wanted to (several pigs, hens and sheep). Johnby Hall is slightly outside the national park but it's only a short drive to Ullswater and Derwent Water. Would highly recommend and I'm sure we' be back more often if it wasn't a 5 hour drive away!

We only had a very short stay but the cottage was roomy and well equipped. We enjoyed wandering the shared grounds.
