Wow! What can I say..I had the most fantastic 4 day break here. Just me & my dog. I didn't want to go home, did loads but didn't have enough time to do other things that I wanted to do. The cottage is amazing! So cosy & that bed was the only comfortablist bed I've ever stayed in when away. Stainton is a beautiful village & so near to everywhere. I can't wait to book for next spring, to come back to Jesmond Cottage. I am really quite sad that I am now back home! I want to move to Lake District! Sally's cottages..you did me proud!

Hello Karen, I love getting feedback like this - thank you so much. I'm over the moon you had a wonderful memorable break. It's a real gem of a cottage isn't it? You couldn't have picked a better location for exploring the Lakes and getting out and about on some great walks with your dog. I very much look forward to welcoming you back and thank you once again for your lovely feedback.

This is an amazing cottage in the north lakes district, it’s in a commutable distance to all the lakes but in our opinion the best lake being Ullswater which offers fantastic unspoilt walks.
We had a wonderful stay, there’s everything you could need in the kitchen, it was immaculately clean. It felt like home from home, the bed was very comfy and the bathroom was lovely, the only negative for me were the sofas, they were just too low for a chap of 6’2” hence why I didn’t dive 10 for comfort. We loved it and will come back, just next time I’ll bring my camping chair to sit in.

Jesmond Cottage is a lovely cottage, nice and quiet and in a good location with easy access to the lakes and fells. However, perhaps a personal preference, we found the sofas extremely uncomfortable and the lighting very dim. Also, we do tend to come in the colder winter months and we found the heating not as efficient as we'd like, even following the instructions given, the radiators never really got hot and we were cold especially first thing and when we came in after being out all day. It does take a while to warm up. Plenty of hot water though. You do get used to the low beams after bumping your head a few times but we found more of a hazard were the differing floor levels which perhaps need some kind of warning stripe on them. The garden is lovely but it was covered in slippery green moss when we ventured out to have a look. With these things given attention we would happily recommend it to others - it is lovely and we did have a nice stay, but in the very cold winter months perhaps not for us. Thank you for the tea, coffee, biscuits and wine - but a pint of milk in the fridge to make a cuppa on arrival would have been the icing!

Hi Sheila, thanks again for leaving your review after staying at Jesmond Cottage. I just wanted to let you know that I've chatted to the owner about the points you passed on to me and some new lights have now been installed in the living room to brighten this up. The owner has also adapted the winter heating settings a little so that this offers some extra warmth during the colder months. The owner also cleans the moss on a frequent basis so this shouldn't be causing any problems for visitors. Thanks again for your review and I hope that you are back in the Lakes again soon.
Hi Sheila, thank you for taking the time to leave such detailed comments, I will certainly investigate them further for you. I'm so glad to hear you enjoyed a nice, peaceful, stay and look forward to welcoming you back in the future.
