Irt Valley View is in a beautiful location.
It states it is dog friendly which is excellent and being dog lovers did not affect our holiday there. However the main lounge rug and one of the sofas was obviously covered in white dog hairs which covered our clothes - a thorough hoover would have been good. Our dog also found a Christmas bauble and dog chew underneath one of the sofas.
The back garden was very overgrown and in need of some pruning.
Having said this the accommodation was excellent value for money and the 2 local pubs offered excellent tasty food at reasonable prices.

Hi Lisa, thank you for taking the time to write a review. I'm so pleased you enjoyed your stay, it's a lovely place for a relaxing break isn't it?
I'm sorry to hear that some of the cleanliness wasn't up to scratch when you arrived at the cottage. Thank you for bringing it to my attention, I'll make sure it's addressed with the cleaners. We'll take a look at the garden too.
I hope you can come back to explore more of the Lakes soon.

Irt Valley View is in a good location - quiet, private and easy access to places. There is plenty of space, lovely big rooms; warm and comfortable. It was slightly strange to see no curtains at the windows downstairs, but because it was the height of summer it didn't bother us, but in the winter?? The owner lives next door which we hadn't realised until we arrived and couldn't access the key! He was extremely helpful throughout our stay. The nearest pub in walking distance was not dog friendly so we didn't go there, but we found several excellent dog friendly pubs within a short drive, and a lovely beach at Drigg which the dogs loved. If you are Vegan, try the 'Brown Cow' at Waberthwaite. The chef is very keen to cook Vegan on request if he is given a little notice. Covid restrictions did impact when going out. We had to make sure eating places were open and had space. Overall would recommend.

Hi Kate, thank you for taking the time to write a review. I'm so pleased you enjoyed your stay, it's a lovely place for a relaxing break isn't it? I'm glad you found lots of dog friendly pubs nearby, it's always a bonus to let someone else do the cooking for a change when you're on holiday!
I hope you can all come back for some more Lake District adventures soon.

Large property, very clean bedrooms and bathrooms. Overall very comfortable. The cleaning team however neglected to clean the fridge and oven after previous occupiers, also caffetiere needed a good clean before use. It could do with some smaller paring knives in the kitchen drawers as all large knives and alot not sharp. The water is we found very strange. The cold tap runs very hot to begin with and never gets really cold so we bought bottled water to drink with and make tea and coffee. Having said this we thoroughly enjoyed our holiday. Owners next door very nice people.
