Definitely recommend this Walkers dream cottage, fantastic location. Climbed scafel, walked around Wastwater (including the screes) walked over the top to Eskdale plus several local smaller forest walks. Cottage lovely and warm to come home to and the 2 pubs very welcoming and friendly with good food. Our only tiny small problem was the local shop is closed for the winter. Luckily we’d taken supplies so only needed one trip up to gosforth for milk. Bear it in mind if you stay in the colder months. Cafe preparations next door not an issue at all. 👍😀

Hello Mark and Jane, Thank you for taking the time to leave some feedback. It's a real cosy cottage, isn't it? You couldn't have picked a better location for getting out and about on some great walks - sounds like you had a fantastic time exploring. You just can't beat good pub grub - even better when someone else does the washing up. Here's to the next Lakes adventure!

A lovely cottage in a perfect location for us as we like peace and quiet, but unsure when the bistro is next door if it would be as appealing. Also 2 good pubs within walking distance. We walked from the door each day and only saw a handful of other walkers and the views from the screes are amazing. The downstairs shower room needs some attention as very damp, rusty toilet roll holder but apart from that we had a lovely week and the weather was kind to us too which is always a bonus when in the Lakes.

Irt Cottage is a very pleasant holiday cottage in a fantastic location for people who enjoy the outdoors and walking. It had most things that anyone would need, but a couple of niggles which were bearable. The sofas in the living room were quite uncomfortable, the boiler was a mystery and there were no apparent instructions but it was overcome to provide some heat, and on entering on the first occasion, the downstairs rooms smelt heavily of dog. But overall, it provided everything we required for a week and we had a fantastic holiday.
