Whether for an energetic, adventurous holiday or a peaceful, countryside retreat, this charming house is the perfect place to gather family and friends to make the most of everything the area has to offer.

Welcome to a luxurious and well-appointed house perched high above the much-loved town of Keswick and enjoying stunning views over its surroundings. This newly refurbished cottage sleeps eight people in four tastefully decorated bedrooms and benefits from elegant and well thought through communal spaces making it simply perfect for a gathering of family or friends.

Situated in a sought-after residential area of Keswick, the cottage is perfectly placed whether you feel like pottering down to the bustling centre of the town or whether you'd rather stay out of the hubbub and make the most of the unparalleled natural surroundings. The town is well known for being the Lake District's adventure capital boasting a vast array of adrenaline fuelled activities in the great outdoors for visitors to sample. If a rather more sedate visit is to your taste then the town has plenty to offer too with wonderful pubs, excellent eateries, museums, not to mention a great range of independent and outdoor shops. For a cultural evening why not walk down to the beautifully situated Theatre By The Lake which shows a wide programme of drama, comedy, music and events throughout the year? Alternatively hop on board one of the Keswick launches to lap up the glorious scenery from the water. If you're hoping to don your walking boots then you could scarcely be better placed as there are numerous walks from the door including Walla Crag or the ancient Castlerigg Stone Circle and should you be ready for a bigger adventure 10 minutes in the car could see you at the foot of either Helvellyn or Skiddaw, two of England's mountain giants.

This spacious cottage has been thoughtfully decorated with a light airy colour scheme making the most of all the natural light flooding in from the many windows. On arrival, you are immediately struck by the fresh modern feel of the house. All of the bedrooms and the living room are on this floor while the open-plan kitchen and dining space is downstairs. Heading along the corridor you'll find the elegant living room. Like many of the rooms in this house it has two windows offering beautiful aspects, to the front you overlook the gardens and to the side out as far as Bassenthwaite Lake. It has two substantial curving sofas, a large TV with DVD and a modern gas fire. It really is a perfect room to lounge in and chat about your lovely Lake District days.

The bedrooms all benefit from TVs with Freeview, high quality heavy oak furniture and thoughtfully chosen art work. The first of the rooms you encounter is an en-suite king-size bedroom, this has two windows looking out on to the gardens, while this room doesn't have a wardrobe it does have hanging space and a dresser. It has a modern shower room with a mixer shower and a drencher head as well. The second bedroom on this floor is the twin room. This has zip-and-link beds which can be made up as a super-king bed should your party require it, please advise us on booking if that is the case. This room has a large wardrobe and dresser. The third bedroom is another en-suite king-size room, its two windows offering views to the gardens at the front and the summit of Skiddaw to the side. Once Again it benefits from its own wonderful modern shower room. The final bedroom is another king-size room with two windows one of which taking in that marvellous vista of Skiddaw and the other to the grounds at the rear of the property. This floor also has a spacious family bathroom, it has a lovely clean modern suite with a 'd' bath with over bath mixer shower and drencher head. Perfect for massaging away tired muscles.

Venturing downstairs you'll find the glorious open-plan kitchen and dining area. This simply gorgeous sociable space also stretches into a light drenched garden room area with two comfy sofas and huge bi-fold doors opening out on to the patio and garden. The kitchen is exceedingly well equipped with up to the minute appliances including a Bosch double oven and halogen hobs, a dishwasher, microwave and under-counter fridge as well as all the crockery you could require for a gathering. There is a beautiful large dining table and chairs around which you can plan all your Lake District adventures or simply enjoy some sociable meal preparation. Through from the kitchen there is a utility room with a large fridge/freezer, a washing machine and tumble dryer, a handy downstairs WC and plenty of shoe storage space for all those muddy boots.

Moving back to the garden room, if you can drag yourself away from those two comfy sofas out into the gardens you'll be rewarded with a multi level landscaped garden with a sloping lawn, mature colourful shrubs and magnificent views of Bassenthwaite and Skiddaw. You can even enjoy watching the comings and goings of all the birdlife from the woodland across the road from the property. What a wonderfully indulgent place to gather family or friends to enjoy the Lake District.

This cottage is a lovely cottage, with lots of room and lovely areas both upstairs and downstairs to socialise and be with family. The bedrooms are spacious and comfortable with lots of storage. The garden is a lovely space with lots of seating, and views over the mountains. As we visited towards the end of season the property was a little run downRead more and not the cleanest, which was a shame as it took away from that wow factor and made it feel like we didnt get great value for money. Ideal place for multi aged group. Kitchen very well equipped for a holiday rental and tumble dryer was good as had a lot of rain. House was clean and garden well kept. Keswick short walk away for those able to negotiate a steep hill back , otherwise a short car/bus journey. Would not hesitate to recommend.

On arrival at the property, there were crockery, glasses and cutlery left in the dishwasher albeit there were clean. This should have been emptied prior to our arrival!

This is a lovely property. There was 5 of us ranging from 11 years to 88 years old. Downstairs is a open kitchen/dining area/comfy seating area where we spent most of the time as a family. Useful having the three bathrooms. The property is on the hill coming out of Keswick but it is an easy walk down hill into Keswick. The bus stop is extremely cloRead morese and we often used the buses as they were frequent (fares were only 2 a journey). It is a good position to explore the area around Keswick. Hide

The house is comfortable, situated above Keswick with lovely views of Skiddaw and Latrigg at the back and at the front overlooking the lovely garden. It is well equipped for crockery and cutlery and cooking equipment. The house was cold on arrival and the visitor information needs updating regarding how everything works.
