A spacious living room and a dining table for five makes this perfect for couples, a group of friends and small families, with days spent discovering fell walks, country pubs and spectacular views.

Situated in the pretty village of Grange-in-Borrowdale, this cottage offers comfortable self catering holiday accommodation for 5 people.

This terraced cottage has stunning views of the Lake District mountains from every window and a garden that is the perfect place to relax in after a day on the fells. The village boasts two tearooms, one with its pretty garden on the river is only a few steps further. There are two beautiful slate churches too, both lovely to sit inside for a few moments of quiet contemplation. There are also plenty of pubs in the neighbouring villages, the nearest being in Rosthwaite.

Rosthwaite also has a delightful tea room which serves as the village shop too. Borrowdale is a wonderful starting point for hundreds of walks – either on the mountain tops or along the bottom of the valley. You may find that you can walk all week, from Grange, without feeling the need to use your car.

The property is only a 10-minute drive from all the facilities of the bustling market town of Keswick, but why drive when you can take the Derwentwater Launch for an altogether more leisurely journey. There is also a regular bus service to Keswick that loops around Derwentwater, another service takes the longer route route over Honister Pass and past Buttermere. Keswick offers an unsurpassed range of outdoor shops, pubs, restaurants and cafes. By day, Keswick is the ideal starting point for walkers and climbers, as well as those who want to potter the cobbled Market Place. By night there is a cinema, or the famous Theatre by the Lake, which puts on plays, shows and concerts all year round.

The front door opens to the entrance hallway with boot rack and leads to the sitting room. The sitting room benefits from lovely views of the Borrowdale Fells and is comfortably furnished including a cosy multifuel burner. Comfortable seating is arranged around the TV with Freesat, Blu-ray and Wi-Fi. There is a selection of board games, DVDs, books and maps for visitors to use.

The kitchen is fully equipped with electric oven and hob, microwave, full height fridge/freezer, dishwasher and washer/dryer. There is plenty of storage space and a dining table with seating for four with a further chair kept under the stairs.

Upstairs there are three bedrooms; a king-size, a twin and a single bedroom. The family bathroom has a bath with shower above, WC and wash basin. There is an additional WC and wash basin in the ground floor cloakroom.

Outside there is a patio at the front of the house with fantastic views. Garden furniture is provided to enjoy the morning and early afternoon sun.

Perfect location; lovely and warm; very well equipped kitchen. Only real disappointment was the shower which was very weak and not ideal at the end of a long day's hiking!

This cottage is not well maintained, it was really quite badly cleaned, smelled damp and the shower leaked which was mentioned in several entries in the visitor book so clearly never been fixed. The location is great for walking but the house itself was very disappointing. Sally's cottages used to be a cut above but since they sold out to the biggeRead morer company there is clearly no vetting. Dissapointing Hide

Lovely cottage in a great location. It has everything one needs for a fellwalking holiday, including a bus stop just round the corner and many great walks starting right at the doorstep. Loved the cozy yet functional decor (not sure why a previous guest called it dated, because it is tasteful and just as a cottage in the Lakes should look).

We loved this cottage in a great village location with an outdoor table & chairs in the small front garden. The accommodation is comfortably and tastefully frnished. It would benefit from a more powerful shower, however. The cafe next door is excellent and the scenery/ walks in Borrowdale are wonderful.

The cottage is in a brilliant location with many varied walks from the door. You can head off up Catbells in one direction, and the mountains around Dale Head in the other. Castle Crag is also just a small walk through the woods. It has a beautiful river. Parking is tight but we had 2 small cars and that was fine. The cottage has a busy cafe next dRead moreoor with great food, but no proper pub to walk to and no shop. However, Keswick is handy nearby with all its shops and facilities. Hide

We had an amazing stay, would highly recommend. Even though it rained all week, there was lots to do in the area and we still thoroughly enjoyed our holiday.

Location is good but parking difficult for anything other than one small car. Most importantly the cottage needs a makeover and freshen up in all rooms to make it more comfortable to stay at.
