Holly Cottage is situated in a remote countryside location less than a mile from the village of Ennerdale Bridge and was previously part of Bank House Farm. It has recently been tastefully refurbished in a modern country style and sleeps up to four guests. The fully enlcosed rear garden makes it perfect for families with young children or dogs.
Upon entering the neatly presented cottage, there is a small vestibule in which to leave muddy boots, coats and walking gear. You will then enter the living room, in which you'll discover a multi fuel stove (initial supply of coal is provided), surrounded by a three-seater leather sofa and armchair. There is a TV and DVD player and a small collection of DVDs. The sash window frames the view looking over fields towards Cleator Moor. A peek around the corner will reveal a separate snug for those who want a bit of peace and quiet; a selection of books, walking guides and board games are available and the room is furnished with a two-seater leather sofa.
The well-stocked kitchen is accessed via the livingroom and is noteable for its fabulous slate flagstone flooring. An electric oven with ceramic hob, microwave, freestanding fridge-freezer and washer-dryer are all included. The kitchen table serves as a dining area for four guests. The view from the kitchen looks towards Ennerdale Water, with the Western Fells (including Great Borne, Starling Dodd and Gavel Fell) in the distance. The rear garden is accessed via the kitchen; it is a simple enclosed rectangular space with slate shillies and flagstones on the ground and outdoor table and chairs to seat four people.
Upstairs, on the first floor, are the two bedrooms. The double bedroom contains two bedside cabinets and chair (the large wardrobe is in the hallway, opposite the door) and the twin room contains two single beds, a large wardrobe and chest-of-drawers ad a (now) unused feature fireplace. Both rooms look out to the front and over the fields towards Cleator Moor. The bathroom contains an over-bath electric shower, bath, WC and heated towel rail, with views over the Ennerdale fells.
