Many of our cottages are traditional old properties; ex mining cottages, converted barns and grand Georgian town houses. They are full of quirky features that come with age, but these cottages are not always accessible if you are unsteady on your feet or if you have mobility needs.
The following selection of cottages all have specific features that may make them suitable if you have any mobility issues. We define these cottages as having:
- Ground floor accommodation
- Step in shower or wet room style shower room
You can click on the individual cottage for full details or call us in the office to discuss in more detail. Less abled cottages may also have a step or two outside the property, for example a doorstep, or steps into the garden. The cottage may also have a step inside the property, particularly in older cottages that might have been extended. We always try to ensure our descriptions are as accurate as possible.
We always recommend that, if you have any particular accessibility needs, that you let us know before booking. Please be as specific as possible with what you require so that we can liaise with owners and make sure we find you a cottage that suits you fully.
We also have a separate selection of accessible cottages that may be suitable for wheelchair users. You can view the details by clicking on the highlighted link.
Please note that all of our accessible cottages are self-assessed and are not rated by any national scheme.
