Many of our cottages are traditional old properties, ex mining cottages, old barns and grand old town houses. They are full of quirky features that come with age, but these cottages are not always suitable for holidaymakers who use a wheelchair, or those who are less steady on their feet.
The following selection of holiday cottages all have special features that may make them suitable for wheelchair users. You can click on the individual cottage for full details or call us in the office to discuss in more detail.
We define wheelchair friendly cottages as having:
- Ground floor accommodation
- A wet room style bathroom, or walk in shower with grab rails (this will be defined in the cottage description)
- Level access or an access ramp into the property
- Level access throughout the property
Where possible, we will specify doorway widths and any other special features such as hard floors and grab rails. We also have a selection of cottages that are suitable for less abled guests who may be able to manage a step into the property and do not need the property to be entirely wheelchair friendly.
We always recommend that, if you have any particular accessibility needs, that you contact us before booking. Please be as specific as possible with what you require so that we can liaise with owners and make sure we find you a cottage that suits you fully.
Please note that all of our accessible cottages are self-assessed and are not rated by any national scheme.
