Hillside Cottage is a wonderful home from home for 6/7 people in the beautiful Eskdale Valley. Inside Hillside Cottage you'll find a fantastic kitchen and living-dining room complete with wood burner on the ground floor. Upstairs on the first floor are 2 of the 3 bedrooms, a spacious double and lovely twin, and the modern family bathroom. The third bedroom, a pretty double with an additional pull out single bed, can be found on the second floor. As well as parking for 1 car, the outhouse doubles as a handy utility area and also contains an extra shower room. Hillside Cottage also has a lovely patio garden with stunning views of the surrounding countryside.

Located in the picturesque hamlet of Eskdale Green, Hillside Cottage is surrounded by stunning scenery. There are a wealth of walking opportunities on offer straight from the door, including the delightfully named Giggle Alley Wood and the intriguing Japanese Garden. Enjoy a picnic lunch at the beautiful Stanley Ghyll Force waterfall before heading to St Begas church where you can learn all about the history of the local area. Eskdale Green also has a well stocked village shop and there are a number of pubs in the valley that are definitely worth a visit.

A ride on the affectionately named La’al Ratty is a must for anyone staying here; the Eskdale and Ravenglass steam railway offers a delightful way to take in your surroundings. Serious hikers can tackle Scafell Pike, England’s highest mountain, or venture up Muncaster Fell for stunning views over the valley. Visit remote Devoke Water or head to the neighbouring valley of Wasdale for a walk by magnificent Wastwater, the deepest of all The Lakes.
