General Description

As the name suggests, Hill Cottage enjoys an elevated position on the edge of the Lakeland village of Braithwaite, just 3 miles from the bustling market town of Keswick.

Leave boots and coats in the handy entrance porch before continuing onwards into this welcoming home from home. The spacious living-dining room is a wonderful open plan space. Relax on either the 2-seater or the 3-seater sofa in front of the gas flame-effect fire, perfect for cosy evenings in. For entertainment there's a TV with Freeview and DVD player or why not take a seat on one of the armchairs in the window and catch up with a good book. Gather round the wooden dining table, perfectly positioned by the French doors that lead out to the patio, and compare notes on the day's events over a hearty home cooked meal, or use the map on the wall to plan tomorrow's activities.

The newly-refurbished kitchen/breakfast room is well equipped with a built-in electric oven and separate hob, handy microwave/grill, fridge-freezer, washing machine and useful dishwasher - there'll be no fighting over who has to do the washing up here! Enjoy your morning coffee at the table in here, or pull up a seat and keep the cook company. Off the kitchen is a bright conservatory. Ornithologists will love sitting out here and watching the comings and goings of the many birds who also like to pay Hill Cottage a visit (or its garden at least!). A useful cloakroom with hanging space, WC and washbasin off the hallway completes the downstairs.

Up the stairs to the first floor where you'll find the two bedrooms and family bathroom. First up is the master bedroom, a lovely double where you're sure to feel instantly at ease, with a hanging cupboard and chest of drawers. The second bedroom is a delightful twin, with two single pine beds, two handy chests of drawers and a wardrobe for storage. Both bedrooms are at the rear of the cottage and so benefit from fantastic views over the garden to the fells beyond, the perfect excuse for bringing your morning cuppa back to bed! Also on the first floor is the newly-refurbished family bathroom. As well as the WC and washbasin you'll find a bath with a shower over, meaning all tastes are catered for whether you prefer an invigorating shower or a relaxing soak in the tub.

To the front of Hill Cottage is a gravelled driveway, with ample parking for two cars (three at a squeeze) and a handy garage, which will provide storage for boots and bicycles. (Please note that he garage will not accommodate a car.) We strongly recommend that you do not reverse onto the road without assistance. There is a wonderful rear garden with a delightful raised patio area, ideal for dining al fresco with a view! Down five steps from the patio, the rest of the large rear garden is laid to lawn with plenty of mature plants, trees and shrubs for added interest.
