Highbridge Cottage is a charming mid-terrace house for four people in the much-loved village of Braithwaite. Just a short walk from excellent local pubs, restaurants and with a vast range of walking right from the door it makes a great base for a family or friends to make the most of this wonderful area. It boasts delightful decorative touches such as local photography, lovely soft furnishings and even fluffy robes for guests to relax in.
On arrival at the house guests enter via the front door into the hallway. There are coat hooks and an under-stairs cupboard with plenty of space for your outdoor bits and bobs. To the right of the hall is the comfortable and welcoming living room. With a soft brown leather sofa and large snuggler chair arranged around an open fire and television with Freeview and decorated with a warm palette of colours, it makes a lovely place to relax after your Lakeland adventures. There's a lovely view from the two front windows out onto the stream passing below and a built-in cupboard with plenty of games to keep you entertained.
At the back of the house is the lovely modern kitchen/diner. Refurbished to a high standard with modern units, a built-in fan oven, gas hobs, dishwasher, large fridge freezer, microwave, washing machine and all the crockery and cookware you will need for your stay. There's a dining table for four with a dresser and books for keeping you occupied and a neat little hatch for calling through to the living room. There's also a back porch off the kitchen with more room for muddy boots.
Moving upstairs to the first floor, the master bedroom has a romantic metal king size bed frame, built-in wardrobes, a chest of drawers and two windows looking out on the stream and woodland opposite the house. The twin room has charming metal bedsteads, a wooden wardrobe and chest of drawers and a view to the rear of the house where you can see the ridge of Barrow ascending from the village to give you inspiration for your days. Lastly to the light spacious bathroom which has a modern suite with "d" shaped bath with over-bath shower which has a drencher head. Perfect for soaking away aching muscles.
Outside the house there is a narrow back yard with a bistro table and four chairs for enjoying a morning cuppa or an evening glass of wine whilst listening to the nearby stream.
