- A very nice house overall but let down by a few things. Parking and location are excellent.
Main bedroom with super king bed very comfortable but there is no ventilation at all without the window open. This has caused damp issues in the wardrobes which appears to have been sorted out but there is still an unpleasant smell in them. Condensation builds up on the window overnight. Double bed in second bedroom is very uncomfortable.
Kitchen is not the best layout with very little useable work surface.
Although there is a large porch area which is useful for walking storing boots and coats, they will not dry in here during the colder months so need to be taken into the house.
Although there is a garage, there is no access to this. It may be useful to allow access to allow storage of bikes. The cottage page does not specify bike storage so this is a suggestion and not a criticism.
Overall this is a very spacious and comfortable and clean cottage with just a few minor points that we feel are a little below the standard of similar properties where we have stayed previously.

Hi David, thank you for taking the time to write a review. I'm so pleased you enjoyed your stay, it's a lovely place for a relaxing break isn't it? I'm sorry to hear you felt there was an issue with damp. The property was recently inspected on the back of your feedback but in addition, the owner has also been to visit the property himself. I'm confident everything has been resolved but rest assured, I'll keep a very close eye on things. I'm also very sorry to hear that you found the double bed uncomfortable. The owner checked this during his last visit to the property and whilst he found the bed comfy, he'll be sure to monitor the situation moving forward. Mattresses can be a funny one - what works for some may not for others. I really appreciate your feedback and suggestions for improvement, so thank you. I hope you can come back to explore more of the Lakes soon!
