A lovely, comfortable house with beautiful gardens and plenty of space for children to play. We spent a contented 3 weeks and enjoyed the cacophony if farm noises; donkeys, ducks, shep , cows and of course the cockerel who thought everyone should be up by 5! The photos of the downstairs rooms show them to be much lighter and more spacious than reality but we were outside most of the time. Very helpful gardener gave us good tios on best places to shop etc .

Hi Margaret, thank you for taking the time to write a review. I'm so pleased you enjoyed your break, it's a lovely place to kick back and relax isn't it? I think I may have been tempted to buy the cockerel a blindfold! I hope you can come back and do it all again some time, you can be sure of a warm welcome.

A super place to stay, particularly if you are interested in staying in a property steeped in history, and if you like to spend time indoors whilst on holiday as much as being out and about! Cosy, interesting, very well equipped and plenty of space inside and out. Lots to read and enjoy. Wifi is intermittent and only extends to a few rooms in the house, would only be an issue if you are dependent on good internet connection. Farm dogs are quite noisy at night, we became used to it, otherwise would have rated property 10/10!!!
