The house benefits from being in a beautiful spot between the vibrant towns of Keswick and Cockermouth. The building itself has a wonderful facade with wide bay windows and a central balcony perfect for taking in the stunning surrounding views. The house offers spacious and comfortable accommodation for eight guests with three double rooms and a twin. It has ample living and dining space for a gathering of family or friends and also boasts a games room with a pool table. A stay here includes access to the gym and spa facilities at Armathwaite Hall Hotel.
There is superb walking in the Bassenthwaite area around the cottage. Skiddaw, Sale Fell, Binsey and Dodd Wood are all within a 5-10-minute drive. The lakeshore is only a 3-minute walk away and only slightly further off is Dubwath Meadows, a nature reserve with boardwalks and bird hides. Dodd Wood has a small tearoom and signed walks through the forest to the summit viewpoint where there is a stunning vista across Bassenthwaite and Derwentwater. If you’d rather explore the area on two wheels, the cottage is perfectly placed to access Whinlatter forest and a wealth of bridleways locally.
The front door leads to a large hallway to the left of which is the lounge with electric fire, TV and DVD. The living room opens into the spacious dining room which also features an open fire and is ideal for a family gathering. The kitchen is accessed from the dining room and is fully equipped with cooker with six-ring hob, double oven and grill and hot plate storage, microwave, dishwasher, full-height fridge/freezer, second under the counter fridge, washing machine, tumble dryer and plenty of storage space.
To the right hand side of the hallway is the games room with wood burner, pool table, darts board and second TV.
Upstairs are four comfortably furnished bedrooms - a spacious double bedroom with large en-suite bathroom and shower over bath. This bedroom has a pull out sofa bed that can be used to accommodate two extra children. There is also a double bedroom with en-suite shower room, a family bedroom with double bed and bunk room and a twin bedroom. There is also a large family bathroom with a shower over the bath. Enjoy glorious views of the river and surrounding fells from all the bedrooms.
The garden outside is not enclosed, and there is parking by the cottage for up to three cars.
