Very good cottage in an excellent location. All the equipment worked and is of high quality. The log burner was used every evening mainly for looks as the heating was more than sufficient. Log burners do produce dust, which is possibly why several areas were quite dusty. Not an issue really. Parking was a bit tight as I have a large 4WD. Beds and settee's all comfortable. Overall very good.

Hi Graham, you're right, log burners are wonderful aren't they? I'm so glad you had such a wonderful time - it really is a superb location, isn't it?

It’s a lovely cottage and worked well for the four of us. We loved the decoration and the beds were so comfy that we took details of the mattress and topper brands. Some minor issues: the Hoover flex was worn in two places and therefore a health and safety issue. The bathrooms were pretty dusty round the skirting boards and behind the loos. The oven instructions were missing and it took a while to work out why it wouldn’t work. The clock needs to be set correctly, I think. Clearer instructions are needed for the key box. The instructions were clear to open the box, but we struggled to close it again until a neighbour helped! All minor details! We will be back!

Hi Hilary, I am so delighted that you all enjoyed your stay - you really can't beat a good night's sleep at the end of a long day, can you? I have made a note of the other issues you flagged and passed them on to the owner who is in the process of addressing them. I'm looking forward to welcoming you back next time you visit!

Almost flawless. Every little detail was considered. This was our 8th stay in the Lake District in the last three years and our 3rd in Grasmere and by a country mile the most delightful. The fixtures and fittings were beautiful, the house was spotless, little touches like providing some basic foodstuffs, dishwasher tablets, soaps made this such a perfect self-catering cottage. If you could only have fixed the weather, but staying in such a lovely cottage while the torrential rain hammered down most of the week made even that tolerable. The only very minor flaw was that the Smart TV would not connect to the internet, so Netflix (for which there is a subscription) and other premium services were not available, which was a shame given the weather. However, as this was a bonus not an essential part of our holiday it did not take the shine off a beautiful home from home.
