Helm Kent is perfect for couples and small families. There are fantastic views of the surrounding countryside and you are well away from the crowds and traffic, yet it is only a mile to walk into the centre of Bowness-on-Windermere which has a wealth of shops, cafes, bars and restaurants. You can also visit Peter Rabbit and Jemima Puddleduck at the World of Beatrix Potter in Bowness or take a trip on the steamer around Windermere Lake.
When you visit Helm Kent you are right in the heart of the Lake District with easy access to all sorts of walks in beautiful settings. A little walk up to Post Knott is a good way to get your initial bearings – the views to Windermere and the central fells are stunning. There are plenty of resting spots and if you’re still feeling bright and breezy, you can carry on to Brantfell beyond.
Windermere is your nearest lake but nearby is also Rydal Water, Grasmere and Coniston – all beautiful places to visit.
Helm Kent is a part of Helm Farm, which has three other cottages available for letting. Helm Eden, Helm Mint, Helm Lune and Helm Kent can be booked together to accommodate 15 people in total.
