The Heights is a stunning, spacious, contemporary house with amazing views. It contains a variety of spaces, both inside and out, for socialising as a group but also for retreating and finding a quiet spot to relax. The location is perfect for getting out to explore, with or without the car and it provides a modern, practical and welcoming home to come back to. The house has beautiful views across rural fields to the fells, right round from Skiddaw in the east, past Sale Fell and Ling Fell to the Lorton valley. All the bedrooms are of ample size and as the house sleeps up to 11 in 4 bedrooms, plus a sofa bed in the second sitting room, there is plenty of room for a holiday with extended family or for 2 families holidaying together. A family bathroom, 2 en-suites and a downstairs cloakroom mean there will be no queues in the morning either!

Embleton is a small peaceful village tucked away just off the A66 between Cockermouth and Bassenthwaite Lake in the Northern Lake District. The village boasts a popular pub and a hotel-restaurant for eating out within walking distance, plus a lovely play area for children. It is within a short drive of the attractive, bustling market town of Cockermouth with its variety of tourist attractions, shops and eateries. Walk from the door with a network of footpaths heading across the valley to Wythop Mill for Ling Fell and Sale Fell or stick to the lowlands and go into the Lorton Valley. Cockermouth golf course is also within walking distance but don’t let the views of the fells and across the Solway distract you from your swing!

This area provides good access to the quieter Northern and Western fells plus Keswick, bustling hub of the Northern Lake District, is only a 15-minute drive away. Beautiful Bassenthwaite Lake is surrounded by things to do for the family; the Lake District Animal Park, Mirehouse, Whinlatter and the osprey viewpoint for starters, whilst the grown-ups can also choose from the Lake District Distillery and Armathwaite Hall spa. The Solway Coast is a short drive away - enjoy a day on the beach at picturesque Allonby or go birding on the Solway Mosses for a change of scene. Carlisle and Hadrian’s Wall are also within easy reach giving you numerous options for walks and days out. If you want to be in an amazing, roomy, adaptable, modern property in a quiet location away from, yet within reach of, the main tourist hotspots then The Heights could be your perfect choice.
