Hawkshead Lodge is located on a secluded lodge park on the edge of Bassenthwaite Lake. The peaceful location set amidst woodland is an ideal base for a relaxing Lake District break and exploring all that this north-west corner of the Lake District has to offer.
The lodge is comfortably furnished for self catering and can sleep 6 people in 3 bedrooms. There is a decked veranda with wooden garden furniture for sitting out. The veranda looks to Sale Fell and Wythop woods, enjoying a sunny aspect throughout the day.
Bassenthwaite is popular with wild life enthusiasts and is part of a large nature reserve. Ospreys have nested at the lake since 2001 and you can view the nests in season from Dodd Wood near Hawkshead Lodge. Non-powered boats can be launched from a private jetty and fishing is permitted with a license.
Keswick is a ten minute drive from Hawkshead Lodge. The town is popular with outdoor enthusiasts and boasts plenty of outdoor shops, pubs, restaurants, the Theatre by the Lake and an Art Deco cinema.
