Hardingill Cottage is a traditional end terrace cottage dating back to the 1700s. Located in the Lakeland village of Gosforth, Hardingill benefits from excellent access to the fells and the coast, being just a ten minute drive from both. There are extensive views from the upper floors across the countryside to the fells of Eskdale and beyond.
Hardingill has been lovingly refurbished to provide comfortable and homely holiday accommodation for up to 6 people. The characterful cottage has accommodation over three floors in a quirky yet cosy fashion and retains many original period features including the detailed stonework over the original front door and exposed stone walls inside. With lots of different staircases and nooks and crannies, it's the perfect spot for a game of hide-and-seek!
Gosforth is a small, friendly village with a popular shop and café, a bakery and several pubs serving food and local ale. The spectacular valley of Wasdale is a ten minute drive away. The walking here is superb with the peaks of Great Gable, Pillar and Scafell all on offer. Two miles away you can enjoy the coastal sand dunes and sandy beaches between Seascale and Drigg
Eskdale is also close at hand, just 15 minutes away. There are hundreds of incredibly pretty walks in the valley. You can also enjoy a ride on the Ravenglass and Eskdale Steam Railway - a popular miniature railway that travels seven scenic miles to the coastal fishing village of Ravenglass. Muncaster Castle is near to one of the railway stops. There is always plenty going on there all year round, especially for children.
