General Description

Halecat House has an impressive entrance hallway that opens to the grand staircase with a well stocked library of books beneath it.

Off the hallway is the kitchen which is a light and airy room with a large sash window. The kitchen is well equipped with a dishwasher, microwave, fridge, freezer, and a dining table and chairs.

There is a grand dining room with views to the garden, fells and bay beyond, and is kept warm by an open fire. The large sitting room also has an open fire and sofas surrounding a flat screen Freeview TV and DVD player. Bay windows with doors open to the garden and patio area.

The impressive staircase leads upstairs to the bedrooms and bathrooms. There is a laundry room with washer and ironing facilities.

The family bathroom has a bath with a shower over, a WC and a washbasin.

There is a a single bedroom with a large (7 ft long) and almost three quarter width bed.

The large king size bedroom is furnished with a sofa, double aspect windows and garden views. A further single bed can be provided.

There is a further king bedroom with a sofa, dressing table, views of the garden, estuary bay and fells. This bedroom has an ensuite bathroom with bath and WC.

The twin bedroom has an ensuite bathroom with a cast iron bath, WC, washbasin and full length Georgian window offering views to garden.

(NB: a further three single beds can be fitted in the larger of the two king size bedroom or the twin bedroom. The beds are made up with blankets and sheets rather than duvets as the heating stays on over night.)

Outside there is a very large garden, lawn, damson orchard, herbaceous border, flower beds, summer house, full length patio with table and chairs. Please note that, thanks to Halecat House's inclusion in Historic Houses, the gardens are occasionally open to the public. If you would like to make sure the gardens are closed for your whole stay, please get in touch on 017687 80571 or [email protected] before making your booking.

There is plentiful parking on the gravelled area at front of the house for many cars. The garden is open to the public on selected date during the summer.
