General description
Haata Cottage is a delightful and deceptively large terraced cottage in Gosforth in the peaceful western Lake District. It sleeps up to six people in three spacious bedrooms and is a characterful gem filled with so many handmade touches giving it a welcoming and individual feel from the moment you step through the door. The owner of the cottage has made wonderful use of his carpentry skills using local wood and stone to totally refurbish the space while also adding an up to date heating system and all the modern appliances you would hope for to make your stay comfortable.

On arrival at the cottage you are first greeted by the living room and dining area. As with the rest of the cottage the owner has lovingly restored every inch of the space making it a warm and welcoming environment. It has wooden floors, exposed stone walls and beautiful beams as well as a hand made dining table and seating. The room has a TV with Freeview, a DVD player ( the television has a 3D function if you'd like to bring your 3D glasses along!) and a selection of discs for your stay. It has two comfy sofas on which to while away your evenings and an electric effect fire to supplement the, already cosy, heating system. Beyond the dining area and through a stunning bespoke wooden door lies the kitchen, this is a fabulous modern space making use of the double doors and skylights to draw in bags of light. It's a very well equipped kitchen with underfloor heating, a fridge freezer, microwave, dishwasher, a large stainless steel range with electric fan ovens and gas hobs and all the crockery and utensils you'll need for your stay.

Up the curved staircase you'll first encounter the gorgeous shower room. It has an electric shower and beautiful travertine and marble tiling. Beyond this is the bathroom which has a wonderful 'slipper' claw foot bath for soothing away those aching muscles after all your Lake District adventures. The walls even have local cobbles that have been cut and polished as decoration, every inch of this place is individual!

Onwards to the three lovely bedrooms. The master bedroom has a beautiful bespoke wooden king-size bed, a wardrobe, chest of drawers and a delightful window seat. The twin room is a wonderful eclectic space with a handmade wardrobe, a decorative fireplace and a glorious view stretching out towards the coast and Black Combe in the distance. The bunk room is a magical place with a gorgeous toy chest and window seat once again revelling in that lovely view over fields towards the Irish Sea. The beds are a standard single size.

Out through the double doors from the kitchen is a lovely small patio area. The owner has thoughtfully put up a covered area for dining outside whatever the weather and there is also a small upright shed that guests can use for locking bikes away.
