Threlkeld is a wonderful Lakeland village. It's a paradise for fell walkers with majestic Blencathra, mighty Skiddaw and its smaller cousin Latrigg all on offer straight from the front door; for a slightly longer day out, head over the A66 for a walk along High Rigg or Clough Head - you really are spoilt for choice here! Threlkeld has a choice of 2 pubs, perfect for a cold pint or G&T and a hearty meal after a day on the fells. If lower level ambles are more your thing, there are plenty of footpaths to explore around the village too - don't forget to stop off at the cafe in the Village Hall for a slice of cake.
The popular market town of Keswick is only a 5 minute drive away, or why not leave the car and hop on the bus that passes through the village or even enjoy a meandering walk to town (there a few different routes to choose from). With a great choice of independent and outdoor shops, Keswick is great for a bit of retail therapy. If you fancy a relaxing day, take a ride on the launch and enjoy a cruise around Derwentwater?
