The location is great for walking and cycling with Grizedale Forest Centre just a 5 minute walk away.
The property was a former hotel and still retains all rooms with en-suites which was a plus for large parties like ourselves.
Plenty of room inside and adequate kitchen facilities and equipment, again retained fom what was a commercial kitchen.
Good outside space and parking although the weather was against us for fully enjoying the former.
The downside was the property internally was tired and needed money spending on it to bring it up to a decent standard. We did have an issue with water dripping in from a skylight where the glass panel had slipped down and creating an issue on the landing, but otherwise the property suited our needs as base for the week.
