We had a really nice stay here. The apartment was spacious and modern inside, with all the facilities needed. The bed was very comfortable and the area is really quiet which made for a great sleep. The bathtub was also very welcome after some long hikes! The heating made it nice and cosy in chilly autumn weather too. We didn't have any noise issues from the cafe either. Keswick is about ten minutes drive away so easy to stock up on supplies or go out for dinner. The only slight issue is the tight parking space, which can be tricky when the surrounding cottages have multiple cars too. Overall would love to stay here again, fantastic area with walks starting right from the cottage (Cat Bells, round Derwentwater walk, Castle Crag etc...).

Hi Colin, thank you for taking the time to write a review. I'm so pleased you enjoyed your break, it's a lovely place to get away from it all isn't it? I don't think you could have chosen a better location if you enjoy getting out for some good walks. I hope you can come back and do it all again soon.

Really lovely , well equipt property in great location, very peaceful but with easy access into Keswick by car or bus. Beautiful walks on the doorstep. Friendly cafe a welcome bonus. Can recommend without hesitation.

The village of Grange is a great location and perfect for what we wanted from our holiday. This apartment is above a cafe which was great for a beer or ice cream at the end of the day. We didn’t experience any early morning noise or disruption from the cafe at all. The bus runs regularly from the main road and wasn’t too busy.
Parking is an issue. There is one space which requires your car to be parked in an exact position alongside the benches of the cafe so people are walking alongside your car with backpacks, trays etc all day long. It is awkward to back into when the cafe is busy. We didn’t have need to use the car much but on one of the days that we did we were unable to park without moving several cyclists and a parked car, feeling a bit awkward about it all. There was nowhere else to park in Grange (I checked before moving everyone).
Cleanliness was also an issue and I was disappointed to find that parts of the apartment and equipment were dirty. I had to clean inside the drawers in bedrooms before being able to use them as well as having to clean crockery, cutlery and glassware that was dirty - not what I expecting to do on the first day of my holiday. The throws on the sofas were also dirty.
We had an issue with the washer and dryer but this was fixed the next day following a call to Sally’s cottages.
The kitchen has too much in the way of equipment and dining implements leaving no room to store food. Previous guests had left high volumes of partially used salt, clingfilm, detergent etc which took up a lot of space.
The property was clearly restored to a high standard when renovated, it is showing some signs of wear and tear in places but there are some nice features. The sofas in the living room are very uncomfortable making it hard to relax after a long hike without going to bed.
But the Bed in the master bedroom is very comfy and the village is so quiet a good nights sleep is easy to get. Bathroom is lovely and is it was spotlessly clean.
We probably wouldn’t stay here again because of the parking and the cleanliness issues but for anyone wanting to access some amazing walks from their doorstep the location is great. We have raised a complaint with Sally’s Cottages so I am sure any issues around cleanliness will be addressed for future guests.

Hi Davina, thank you for taking the time to write a review. I'm glad you enjoyed your stay, the location is perfect for heading out on the fells isn't it? I hope you enjoyed some good walks.
I'm so sorry to hear that some of the cleanliness wasn't up to scratch when you arrived. I really appreciate you bringing it to my attention, I'll make sure it's addressed with the cleaners. Thank you for your other feedback too, I'll make sure everything you have highlighted is looked into.
I hope you can come back to explore more of the Lakes soon.
