Hi Dean, thank you for taking the time to write a review. I couldn't have asked for better feedback! I'm so pleased you enjoyed your stay, it's a lovely place for a relaxing break isn't it? I hope you can come back to explore more of the Lakes soon.

We have to say that the photos don't do the cottage justice, it's absolutely fantastic, really spacious, nipping clean and every appliance available, even down to an iron and ironing board. You don't need to bring anything with you.
The owners Chris and John are brilliant hosts and are on hand to give tips on local amenities and have kept a really useful folder with local info eg dog friendly pubs and maps etc.
This is our first cottage stay and Chris and John have set the ceiling high with little additional extras like a welcome doggie bag, full of treats and bottles of wine. There's even spare dog leads, beds, dog bath and wood and coal for the bbq and fire pit in the garage.
There's a beach 5 minutes walk away, playground and goalposts just outside to keep the children entertained; the community pub has just reopened serving fresh food and drinks at very reasonable prices.
We have visited many of the local beauty spots with Bassenthwaite Lake, Bowess on Solway, Keswick and Cockermouth being under an hours drive away.
Fantastic base for dog walkers, cyclists and families - top tip keep your phone/sat nav 'souped up' to help you navigate the local windy roads.
Definitely recommend - don't worry about the beams at all, the only low one is in one of the bedrooms and we never hit our heads once - hoping to be back next year abd will be telling everyone about it.

Lovely cottage in quiet peaceful village. Very comfortable and everything you need to cook. Helpful, friendly owners next door. One of the best cottages we have stayed in. Don't let the comment about low ceilings put you off, my husband is 6'3" and didn't bang his head once! Amenities will improve once the new village Community Pub opens on 26th June.
