- We were greeted by John who was friendly and most helpful and said that if we needed anything at all then we were only to ask (he and Christine live at the rear and were never intrusive). There was a lovely touch with wine and flowers to greet us and a goody bag (a ball, biscuits, poo bags) for our dog Finn.
Glenmore is a fabulous cottage and was immaculately decorated and clean throughout. It is extremely well furnished and has absolutely everything you would need for the perfect stay. There are gardens to the front and rear with outdoor seating and for those summer days a barbecue. For those with dogs, then they haven’t been left out either. If required there are dog beds, a dog bath and towels. The attention to detail that Chris and John have gone to is outstanding and Glenmore is up there with some of the best holiday homes we have stayed in.
The village itself is small and quiet and has a farming community. There is a lovely community run pub and a visit to the Cheese Shed is worthwhile. I’m a runner and the lanes around Mawbray were virtually traffic free and allowed for some lovely scenic runs.
Just outside the village is the coast road allowing easy motoring to explore the coast and the villages and towns along the way.
If you want a quiet stress free holiday and to stay in a first class home then Glenmore will suit you. We’ll be revisiting in the summer.
