Directions
From the South
- Leave the M6 at juntion 41 and take the first exit, following signs for the B5305 towards Wigton, Silloth and Hutton-in-the-Forest.
- Continue for 17 miles along the B5305 until you reach a T-junction with the A595.
- Turn left onto the A595 direction Cockermouth and Whitehaven.
- Drive for 3.5 miles along the A595 and turn right at the junction with the chevrons, signposted to Waverton.
- After 1 mile, turn left at the crossroad, signposted to Fletchertown.
- After half-a-mile, turn right onto an unmarked road.
- Drive for another mile, then turn left onto the A596 at the T-junction, signposted to Workington and Aspatria.
- After 2 miles on the A596, turn right at the triangular junction, signposted to Langrigg, Westnewton and Allonby.
- Follow the lane for 3 miles, before turning left at the T-junction.
- At the next juntion at Westnewton, turn right at the triangular juntion, signposted to Allonby.
- Follow the Wigton Road for almost 4 miles until you reach Allonby.
- Turn right at the T-junction onto Main Street (B5300) and follow this road out of Allonby towards Silloth (the seafront will be on your left).
- Stay on this road and you will arrive in Mawbray after about 2.5miles.
- Turn right at the triangular junction opposiste Mawbray Banks Nature Reserve (signposted for Tarns, Pelutho, Abbeytown - the signpost also says "Mawbray" on top of it).
- Follow this road into the village and after about 500m you will see Glenmore on your left. It is the white cottage opposite the play park.
- There is parking for 2 cars on the driveway next to the cottage.
From the North
- Leave the M6 at juntion 44, following the A689 towards Workington.
- Follow the A689 around Carlisle until you reach the ninth roundabout.
- Take the third exit onto the A595 towards Workington.
- Follow the A595 for almost 4 miles until you reach the Thursby roundabout.
- Take the third exit at the Thursby roundabout onto the A596, signposted towards Workington, Aspatria, Wigton and Silloth.
- After 10 miles on the A596, turn right at the triangular junction, signposted to Langrigg, Westnewton and Allonby.
- Follow the lane for 3 miles, before turning left at the T-junction.
- At the next juntion at Westnewton, turn right at the triangular juntion, signposted to Allonby.
- Follow the Wigton Road for almost 4 miles until you reach Allonby.
- Turn right at the T-junction onto Main Street (B5300) and follow this road out of Allonby towards Silloth (the seafront will be on your left).
