The cottage was immaculate throughout and the owners had left a lovely welcome pack which was much appreciated. It was very warm and well equipped. We had chosen this cottage as it had a pub within 1 mile. The nearest is only about 20 minutes walk. However, you have to walk along a path on the very busy A66. This is totally unlit and quite frightening after dark! The walk into Threlkeld is only 30 minutes, a short way along the A66 but then onto a path which is away from the road. However, again, it is totally unlit. This is worth bearing in mind if you are visiting in winter.

Hi Julie, thank you for taking the time to write a review. I'm so pleased you enjoyed your break. It's a lovely place to escape from the hustle and bustle for a while isn't it? You couldn't have chosen a better location if you enjoy getting out for some good walks. I hope you can come back to explore more of the Lakes soon.

Stratford upon Avon Couple
This is the second year we have stayed (same cottage). It’s perfect for us. We like to do a daily walk. The north is much less crowded even driving into the middle of the Lake District. We like to eat in. There is a pub up the road in case of emergency, but we prefer sitting around with some wine and catching up on books. There is a farm shop up the road (A66) and a Marks and Sparks food court in Penrith.
