General Description

Gatesgarth is a delightful sandstone cottage sleeping up to four people in the tranquil village of Irthington near Brampton. Apart from three small steps to the rooms in the rear of the house the accomodation is on one level. On arrival at the property you are greeted by a spacious tiled hallway with plenty of room for all your coats and muddy boots. Immediately off this hallway are the two bedrooms, both are bright and airy with fresh decor and both have wardrobes and drawers. As these are at the front of the house they both look out into the village should you want to watch the world going sedately by outside. The master bedroom has a beautiful metal bed frame and the twin room has zip and link beds which can be made up as a super king size bed should your party require it. Off this hallway you'll also find the main family bathroom with a bath and a separate corner shower enclosure and mixer shower.

Through to the wonderful, light living room. This has beautiful double doors leading out to the large garden at the back. If you can drag yourself away from the view over the garden and rolling fields then this room has a television with Freeview, a DVD player and a wide selection of DVDs thoughtfully left by the owner. It has an electiric fire, a comfy brown leather sofa (which can become a single sofa bed if required) and a delightful rocking chair which is perfect for losing yourself in a reverie while appreciating that view.

From the hallway there are several shallow steps down to the dining room. This delightful room has a large dining table which is perfect for enjoying long post dinner conversations however if you so choose you can remove the wooden surface of the table to reveal a pool table. Why not light the woodburning stove nestled in a nook and settle in for an evening or rainy day family pool tournament? Once again this room has a brown leather sofa, which can become a single sofa bed should your party require it. Leading on from this room is the modern, well equipped kitchen. This has beautiful vibrant deep red units and is well equipped with everything you should need for the culinary minded of you. It has a breakfast table, fridge freezer, dishwasher, fan oven and halogen hobs. You can also find a microwave further through in the utility room. Onwards to the utility room you'll find another sink, washing machine, tumble dryer and built in ironing board. Off this room is the wet room with shower and WC.

Venturing outside you'll be well rewarded with a large south facing lawn adorned with some apple trees and plenty of space for outdoor dining and cartwheeling for that matter! The view beyond the garden is of rolling fields stretching out all the way to Carrock fell in the distance. Why not pour a nice glass of wine and enjoy an evening soaking up the peace and quiet of this lovely village.
