Set along the stunning western edge of the Yorkshire Dales National Park, this impressive farmhouse is a spacious, relaxing and friendly holiday home for eight guests seeking a charming rural retreat.

This property is an impressive, four-bedroom, detached Dales farmhouse. Enjoying a rural position, surrounded by wonderful countryside, it sleeps up to eight people in four beautiful bedrooms. The bedrooms are all spacious with fantastic views over the surrounding countryside. On the ground floor is a stunning kitchen, sun room with dining area, a lovely living room and a cosy snug, meaning there's plenty of room for families and friends to gather together but also space for everyone to be able to get away for a quiet moment. As well as plenty of parking, the property has a fantastic garden with areas of lawn and a patio with outdoor furniture. Guests also have access to a neighbouring paddock, which leads to the popular Dalesway walking route and picturesque River Lune.

The charming town of Sedbergh is just a 5-minute drive away. Known as England's Book Town, there are plenty of independent book shops as well as three pubs, a bakery, greengrocers, butchers and a great selection of friendly local cafes. Located within the beautiful Yorkshire Dales National Park, there's plenty to see and during your stay. Enjoy a walk around the charming village of Ravenstonedale, visit Dent Brewery, one of the most remote in the country, or head to the pretty market town of Kirkby Lonsdale for some retail therapy. For a longer day out, why not head deeper into The Dales? A scenic drive through beautiful countryside takes you to Hawes, a charming market town that's home to the Wensleydale Creamery - you can even try a battered slice of the famous cheese from the town's chip shop! Fans of two wheels are well catered for too. The Dales Cycle Centre at Reeth is the starting point for many different routes, including the Swale Trail, a 12-mile route between Reeth and Skipton, and offers great refreshments in a convivial atmosphere - perfect after all that exercise.

The picturesque Lake District is also within easy reach, so why not spend some time exploring this popular area too? Bowness-on-Windermere is less than a 45-minute drive away and offers something for everyone. Families will love a trip to The World of Beatrix Potter attraction, whilst grownups can enjoy an alternative afternoon tea at the nearby Wildboar Hotel. Stock up on supplies from one of the local bakeries and delis, perfect for a lakeside picnic. To be even closer to the water, you can hire a boat, or let someone else do the hard work and hitch a ride on the popular launch for a scenic cruise around Lake Windermere.

A covered porch leads into the spacious entrance hallway of this property, the ideal spot for leaving wet coats and boots before continuing inside. The cosy snug has an inviting L-shaped sofa and armchair, and there's also a wall-mounted TV. Why not escape for a peaceful few moments with a good book? Behind a sliding door from the hallway is the lovely living room. In here you'll find another large L-shaped sofa and a second TV, so there's no need to fight over the remote control here! The living room also has a wonderful wood burning stove, perfect for cosy evenings in in front of the fire.

Continue through to the back of the cottage and the large kitchen, a real joy. Light, bright and airy, beauty and function come together fantastically here as the stunning kitchen is well equipped with everything you could need for a self-catering holiday. The electric range-style oven with gas hobs is sure to be a hit with the cooks in the group; there's also a free-standing Meile fridge-freezer, additional separate freezer, useful microwave and toaster. The pretty Butler's sink is in keeping with the other period features but there's also a dishwasher if you don't fancy doing the dishes by hand. There isn't a kettle, but instant boiling water is provided by the boiling water tap on the sink, a real luxury. The two stylish stools at the central island unit are ideal for keeping the cook company; early risers will also love enjoying a peaceful breakfast here before everyone else is up.

The kitchen opens into the bright sun room, which doubles as the dining area. Gather round the large wooden dining table, perfect for comparing notes on the day's events over a delicious homecooked meal, or spread out maps and guidebooks and plan tomorrow's adventures. With windows on three sides, the sun room has a delightful outlook over the garden and countryside beyond. Ornithologists will love sitting in here and watching the comings and goings of the many birds who also like to pay the farm - or its garden at least! - a visit. The large, glazed door opens onto a paved area extending the sun room into the garden.

The former pantry has now been converted into a fabulous ground floor shower room. There's a fantastic large walk-in shower and WC. The pantry's original cool shelf now houses the unique stone washbasin, a real wow feature of this beautiful bathroom. Also on the ground floor is a handy utility room housing a useful washing machine, should you wish to make use of that during your stay.

Throughout the ground floor are beautiful stone flagged floors and original wooden beams, making the rooms feel cosy and welcoming - just what you'd want in a home-from-home.

Onwards and upwards to the first floor and the four bedrooms, all found off the traditional panelled landing.

First up is the beautiful master bedroom. This is a lovely, bright room and the super-king-size bed is perfect for indulging in a long lie in - you are on holiday after all! A built-in mirrored wardrobe provides plenty of storage, and there's also a pretty, antique chair, perfect for relaxing with a book, and a quaint dressing table with stool. The pretty king-size room has a useful built-in wardrobe, a painted chest of drawers and matching bedside tables, as well as its own charming dressing table with mirror. The next room is a spacious twin with a feature former fireplace and an original wooden beam. For storage there's a built-in wardrobe, and the two bedside tables have useful drawers too. This room has wonderful views over the garden and paddock, lending the room a calming, peaceful feel. The fourth bedroom is also a twin; a cosy room, decorated in light blue tones, you're sure to feel relaxed in here. Again, this room has plenty of storage thanks to the freestanding wardrobe and handy shelving unit.

Also on the first floor is the spacious family bathroom. With a WC, period-style washbasin and panelled bath, perfect for a relaxing soak in the tub. The bathroom also has a large separate shower which has a rainfall-effect shower head and a second handheld attachment, meaning all tastes are catered for here. The cosy underfloor heating is a welcome addition and means you'll have warm toes when stepping out of the shower or bath.

Outside is no less impressive than inside this fantastic farmhouse. The patio has an outdoor table and seating for eight, and there's also a BBQ if grilling is your thing, perfect for dining alfresco with a stunning backdrop. Also on the patio is a delightful pond area, a haven for wildlife and birds and the perfect spot some peace and quiet. There's also an outside toilet and washbasin, a very handy addition if you're enjoying time outside or have your walking boots on. Guests also have access to the neighbouring 5-acre field where you can follow a path to the picturesque River Lune and popular Dalesway.
