Situated in the South Wing of Tallentire Hall in the peaceful village of Tallentire (three miles north of Cockermouth) is Gardener's Cottage. The current owners bought Tallentire Hall in 2016, and came into possession of the titles of Lord and Lady of the manor of Tallentire. It is a Grade II Listed Building; the tower dates back to at least 1290 and the South Wing itself to 1590, although the site has been used since 1086 when the Manor was first deeded.

The cottage itself sleeps up to two guests in a Kingsize bedroom and the cottage has been refurbished to a high quality. Gamekeeper's Cottage (sleeping up to five guests) is also located in the South Wing and is available for booking if your group requires additional accommodation.

Tallentire Hall is set at the end of a private driveway and you will feel a pleasant sense of remoteness, even though the village is adjacent to the grounds and The Bush Pub is just a five minute walk away. There is a large sunken garden for the guests of Gardener's Cottage and Gamekeeper's Cottage to use (and for children to explore), in which an abundance of wildlife, flora and fauna can be seen among the stone walls and garden ornaments. The birds in the rookery like to remind you that they're in the trees, while rabbits and pheasants are frequent visitors to the garden and deer can occasionally be seen. Outdoor seating and eating areas (including fire pit barbecues) are available for guests of both cottages in the area above the garden.
