Goffs Oak, Hertfordshire Family
- Despite the weather’s best efforts, we have just returned from a fabulous week at Garden Cottage. The house is lovely, perfectly located with a gorgeous garden that leads directly into woods and a walk down to Bassenthwaite Lake or to the Lord’s Seat the other way. It is also minutes from Keswick so if you run out of something it’s only a short drive to the local shops. It is lovely and warm and the large light lounge was a great place for the family to spread out, watch films, play games and do Lego. The house is well appointed with everything you need in the kitchen and a large selection of books and DVDs that would appeal to children and adults alike. We didn’t experience any issues with the hot water, just using common sense and not all using showers at the same time. The only hiccup was with the Wi-fi which was down during our visit which turned out to be an issue with BT. That said, the owners and Sally’s Cottages did their best to resolve it. Fortunately we could use our own Wi-fi although it wouldn’t have bothered me anyway as it was nice to completely switch off! We will definitely return.
