We booked this cottage for three families and it was excellent. With a huge kitchen, dining room and living room, there was plenty of room for all of us to eat and relax while all of the bedrooms were a great size with plenty of space.
Whilst the cottage setting was remote enough to feel as though we were in a world of our own, the proximity to the main a66 meant that it was easy to get around
Overall, a great location and a great time had by all!

Hello Jen, Thank you for your review. It's a fantastic cottage for a big get together isn't it? You couldn't have picked a better location for escaping the hustle and bustle for a while! I'm thrilled you all had a really great time and I very much hope you will plan a return visit soon.

There are many positives, its spacious and the heating keeps you toasty though several thermostatic valves did not shut the radiators down so those rooms were too hot. The showers were a good size but the waste need attention as the water backed up as soon as soap was used in two of them. There is a boost pump to pressurise the system but the shower in the ensuite only works on full hot or full cold, the sink taps just trickle. The coffee table still has not been fixed or replaced despite being mentioned in the visitors book for at least eighteen months. Its difficult to have a cooked breakfast as there is only one medium frying pan, which needs replacing with a larger induction compatible one or better still two. In short, as many others have said its unloved but could be fantastic if most of the recomendations in the visitors book were acted upon.

The inside is well kept, there is an issue with the showers as only one of them has any water power. This is our 3rd time at Garden Cottage - the outside and garden are very scruffy and overgrown. Collecting dog poo off 6ins of grass isn’t easy! BBQ is broken, cover for rain drain on patio isn’t in position so quite dangerous. Glass roof extremely dirty. Such a lovely house deserves a lovely garden.
