General Description

This delightful detached cottage is set in a colourful garden surrounded by lush meadows. It has been beautifully renovated throughout with luxury fittings, pretty accessories and traditional materials, giving an authentic rustic cottage feel. The owners' house is adjacent and they are on hand to offer advice on walks and sightseeing in the local area.

A gravel driveway leads through the fragrant flowerbeds up to the cottage. Step through the front door into the hallway with cast iron radiator, rustic oak bench and useful storage for jackets and outdoor gear.

Leading off from the hall is a charming country cottage kitchen with a gorgeous Rayburn oven, Belfast sink and slate worktops. The oven is kept at cooking temperature for ease of use and a hotplate is provided for frying. There is an integrated fridge and a counter top freezer, washing machine, electric kettle and toaster.  Breakfast is sorted, as there's a cafetiere, a toast rack and egg cups. With a great selection of crockery, glassware and top quality cast iron pans and griddles you'll find everything you need for cosy meals in. The dining area with beautiful oak beams and unique sculptured walls, an oak table, two chairs, CD player and radio is a romantic place to dine. There's even speakers hidden in the walls!

The charming rustic feel continues in the lounge with a feature fireplace, wood burning stove and more oak beams. Comfy sofas, rugs, TV and DVD player make it the prefect spot to relax after a day out exploring the southern Lakes. A selection of maps, guidebooks and DVDs are available for use during your stay.

The cosy bedroom has a king size bed, luxury bed linen, a duck down duvet and feather pillows making for a very comfortable nights sleep. Two windows provide views over the pretty garden and neighbouring meadows.

The luxury ensuite Victorian style bathroom has a large shower cubicle with a gorgeous drench shower, toilet and washbasin. Good quality Egyptian towels are provided.

To the rear of the cottage up a few steps is a raised private patio area with slate table, iron chairs and padded cushions. Being west-facing it is a lovely spot to catch the last of the evening sunshine over a glass of wine. Further seating can be found at the front of the property, the little iron bench being a great place to take off those walking boots. A small stream, Otley Beck, runs through the grounds, which are shared with the owners. Take a book down to one of the benches for a peaceful read alongside the stream.

Parking is on the driveway in front of the cottage. Lockable storage for bikes and other outdoor equipment is also available.
