Forest View is a charming cottage for 3/4 people and 1 dog. Renovated throughout, there's a well equipped kitchen and living-dining room on the ground floor. Upstairs on the first floor is the family bathroom and the 2 bedrooms, a master king size room and a single with an additional pull out bed to accommodate an extra child. As well as parking for 2 cars, Forest View has a delightful rear garden with wonderful views towards the fells and Bassenthwaite Lake beyond.
As the name suggests, Forest View is surrounded by beautiful countryside, including the popular Dodd Wood just across the road. Follow the woodland trail to the summit, the stunning views from the top are certainly worth the climb. In the summer, you might even be lucky enough to catch a glimpse of the ospreys, who also like to visit the area, from the dedicated viewing point in Dodd Wood. Plan a visit to neighbouring Mirehouse, an historic stately home with beautiful gardens as well as an adventure playground for younger children. Why not spend a day by Bassenthwaite Lake? Stroll along scenic lakeshore footpaths before enjoying a peaceful picnic, the well equipped can wild swim or simply find a peaceful spot to bask in your beautiful surroundings.
From Longlands Fell and Little Cockup in the quieter area known as "Back o' Skiddaw" to the more well known routes up Ullock Pike and Carl Side, there's plenty to explore close to the cottage. The bustling market town of Keswick is less than a 10 minute drive away and has plenty to offer. Indulge in some retail therapy, there is a great selection of outdoor and independent shops, or enjoy an evening out at the family run cinema or take in a play at the renowned Theatre by the Lake. Adrenaline junkies can sign up for an activity with one of the local adventure companies or why not walk an alpaca at nearby Whinlatter Forest for something a little bit different?! However you decide to spend your time, Forest View will be a welcoming home from home to retreat to.
