Set amongst the wonderful rolling parkland of the Graythwaite Estate lies Field Head House, a gorgeous period property for up to six people. With the history of this magical Lakeland estate woven through it, Field Head has some unique period features and well curated antiques while also boasting high spec fittings and appliances giving all the comforts of a 21st Century home. With four charming bedrooms spread over two "wings", ample socialising space and delightful gardens, it makes an enchanting cottage for two families or a small group keen to explore this very special area.

Graythwaite is a marvellous family-run estate with a rich history and literary connections to investigate. Set in majestic rolling scenery, it's an enchanting world in itself. Walk or cycle around miles of trails through its 5,000 acres of picturesque parkland, wild woodland and formal gardens. Why not pack a picnic and potter down to Windermere's shore less than a mile away? Arrange outdoor activities with CBA events who have a dedicated team at Graythwaite providing everything from 4x4 driving to stand-up paddle boarding. The estate also boasts its own indoor pool, fitness suite and children's playground less than half a mile's gentle walk from Field Head House.

Moving outside the estate, this much-loved area of the Lake District has a great deal to offer. Esthwaite Water offers trout fishing throughout the year as well as the opportunity to spot some magnificent ospreys during their season. If you'd like to spend a sedate day on the water then both nearby Coniston Water and Windermere offer gentle trips taking in the views on heritage steamers, you could always catch the ferry over to Bowness-on-Windermere to do a little shopping and see a more bustling side to the Lake District. Families will love the Lakes Aquarium just three miles away or in the opposite direction you could pay a visit to Hawkshead, a quaint little village with some well-renowned eateries.
