The Faulds is a quaint old cottage located in Thornthwaite, a quiet hamlet at the foot of Whinlatter Forest. With outstanding views to Skiddaw and a serene setting, The Faulds is an ideal self catering cottage for a relaxing family break. The cottage dates back to the 1600s and has some wonderful old features including uneven stones walls and original beams. The ensuite master bedroom has mountain views, and is complimented by two further bedrooms sleeping two, making the cottage well suited to a growing family.
From the door you can enjoy mountain biking and leisurely walks on the forest tracks in Whinlatter. The forest is very popular with mountain bikers and there is also a Go Ape high wire course and a charming cafe. A short stroll away is a lovely art gallery with a pleasant cafe or why not go for a walk along the shores of Bassenthwaite Lake.
Keswick is just a five minute drive away. The traditional market town offers plenty of choice when it comes to outdoor shops, cafes, pubs and bars.
