A beautiful house with well-equipped kitchen and endless walking right from the front door. If i had to identify points for improvement i would suggest the WiFi needs attention and we were disappointed to find there was no coffee machine as advertised. However, these were very minor concerns and didn't detract from a wonderful holiday. Booking and arrival was a breeze, as ever. Highly recommended, thanks for a lovely stay.

Hello Alex, Thank you for taking the time to write a review. It's a gem of a cottage, isn't it? You couldn't have picked a better location for getting out and about on some great walks. Thank you also for your feedback, I will look into this further. I'm thrilled you had a great stay and I hope you will plan a return visit to the beautiful Lakes very soon.

Third time at Esk View in January. Brilliant for a lot of blokes who like walking/climbing/eating/drinking. If the kitchen was revamped to properly cater for 16 people (like moving the washing machine/tumble dryer into the unused privy and installing a second dishwasher, and installing a double sink) it would be perfect. Even so, we'll probably be back.

We are a group of walkers and this is our second year in a row booking this cottage in January. It is a great location for both high and low level walks. There are two pubs with food within a few minutes walk in Boot and a third The Woolpack a pleasant half hour walk away along a beautiful riverside track but will pick up and drop off in minibus if requested. Lots of bedrooms in Esk View, 2 of which ensuite. We had an issue with lack of hot water for 2 days but once reported this was resolved apparently remotely.
Although the info pack on arrival mentions provision of basics ie tea/coffee there was nothing other than salt and cider vinegar. I have rented many other cottages and usually there is some sort of welcome pack ie tea , coffee, milk which would have been nice. So advice to other renters would be to bring everything including cooking oil, salt, pepper esp if you intend to do any sort of catering. The nearest shop is some distance away. Also tea towels and bin bags as they only provide 2.
The house is large and during a very wet January week, we had wet weather gear draped over every available radiator as the conservatory does not afford any drying. A little blow heater and hangers in the little porch at the end of the hall would be useful. However there are 2 real fires which were very comforting after many hours in the rain.
I can't fault Sally Cottages staff who were always lovely to deal with

Hi Una, thank you for taking the time to write a review. I'm so pleased you enjoyed your second stay at Esk View. The location is perfect for getting out for some good walks isn't it? And it's always a bonus having a couple of good pubs nearby, it's nice to let someone else do the cooking for a change when you're on holiday.
I really appreciate your feedback and suggestions for improvement and will make sure everything is looked into, thank you.
I hope you can come back to explore more of the Lakes soon.
