- We went with a party of 17 to Esk View - 8 adults and 9 children, ranging from 2-17. The house accommodated us all comfortably. The long lounge was great for movies and games and enabled two separate activities to take place simultaneously. The array of games and puzzles were much enjoyed. The large dining room enabled us all to gather for dinner, which was very sociable. The kitchen was a little small but manageable. We enjoyed sitting outside at the table. The view across Eskdale was absolutely magnificent, with all its changing moods.
We had two complete days without needing to use the cars. On one day, we took the Eskdale to Ravenglass railway to Muncaster Mill and walked over to Muncaster Hall. On another day, some of us walked up the valley to the Roman Fort in Hardknott pass and others swam in the river.
Overall, we had a super time and would definitely recommend Esk View as a holiday base for a large group.

Hi Frances, thank you for taking the time to write a review. It sounds like you had a wonderful holiday! It's the perfect place for a get together with family or friends isn't it? The location is stunning, ideal for heading out for some good walks. And the cottage is lovely and cosy to come home to after a day out exploring.
I hope you can come back for some more adventures in the Lakes soon.
