Fantastically located for exploring Ambleside and Lake Windermere, this home is perfect for small families or a friends alike.

Welcome to a delightful retreat for four just a short walk from the centre of Ambleside. Combining contemporary accommodation with a welcoming and friendly feel, you’re sure to feel right at home here. With a lovely living room and fantastic dining kitchen on the ground floor, and two bedrooms and two shower rooms upstairs, everything has been thought of. Enjoying a convivial courtyard setting, there is private parking for one car - a rare treat so close to the centre of Ambleside.

With the town centre so close, why not leave the car where it is and head to explore on foot? There are a great choice of outdoor and independent shops to look around and lots of quirky cafes for a bite of lunch. Try out the indoor climbing wall or why not hire a motor boat for a day on the water?

Take a scenic drive to the magnificent Langdale Valley; head up Lingmoor Fell for stunning views of The Lakes or enjoy a picnic at picturesque Blea Tarn. Why not head to Keswick? Often considered the adventure capital of the Northern Lakes, sign up for an activity with one of the local adventure companies. Try raft building, ghyll scrambling or take on the Via Ferrata at Honister Slate mine if you’ve got a head for heights!

The front door leads you straight into the bright, welcoming living room. Relax on the sofas in front of the feature electric fire, there’s a Smart TV for entertainment. The living room also has wonderful views towards the popular Fairfield Horshoe, a must for serious fell walkers. Continue through to the modern dining kitchen, ideal for sociable mealtimes. The fantastic kitchen is well-equipped and the chefs in your group are sure to love cooking up a feast in here. There’s an electric oven and hob, fridge, handy microwave, dishwasher and plenty of useful cooking equipment. There’s also a washing machine should you need to make use of that during your stay and a freezer can be found in the under stairs cupboard.

Up on the first floor you’ll find the two spacious bedrooms. The lovely king-size room has a wooden wardrobe and chest of drawers for storage as well as its own en-suite shower room with WC, a real treat. The super-king-size bedroom has fantastic views of the Fairfield Horsehoe and also has a wardrobe and chest of drawers. This bedroom can be made up as a twin upon request. Also on the first floor is the fantastic family shower room. With a WC and luxurious modern shower, it’s ideal for reinvigorating tired muscles after a day out exploring.

Outside in the shared courtyard is a private parking space, a real bonus so close to the centre of Ambleside.

Property was warm, well equipped and in an excellent location, only a few minutes walk from the town centre. There was an issue with cleanliness, which was resolved by Holiday Cottages in a helpful and constructive way. The parking space is a bonus.

Very convenient location for the town, yet very quiet, and having its own parking a bonus. Beautifully equipped with good quality furniture and appliances and we will certainly return to it another year. The stairs are quite steep so might be difficult for someone with mobility issues.

We have stayed at Ecclerigg Cottage in 2 consecutive years. The location is brilliant, the parking space is a real bonus and the cottage itself is spacious, cosy and very well-maintained. We love the place :-)!!

The property is ideally located with a free parking space, which is useful for exploring shops / pubs in Ambleside and also for walking to the pier head on Windermere to catch the boats to other destinations. The local bus service stops not far from the entrance. Everything needed for a comforatable stay is included and it's very quiet - we were suRead morerprised we couldn't hear more traffic noise, but the arrangement in the courtyard seems to cocoon us from that. The cottage is in a great location situated between the centre of Ambleside and Waterhead at the edge of Windemere. Well equipped with all that we needed for a week in the Lakes, easy access to the lake and the surrounding fells with plenty of stunning views. Ideal as a location for walking, climbing, cycling or sailing. Fantastic!

We had a fabulous 3 night stay at Ecclerigg Cottage. It was spotlessly clean and the beds were very spacious and comfortable. A short walk to the pubs, shops and bus station plus the parking space was a bonus. What more can you ask for. We shall definitely be back.

The property was much bigger than we expected. It was clean, warm and had everything we needed. Its location was great just a short walk to the local park (which our children loved), local bars, restaurants and shops.

The living room was a bit gloomy, the rest of the house was bright and welcoming. The cottage is ideal for either walking into town or going on longer walks along lanes.

This is a cosy and comfortable well situated cottage near the centre of Ambleside. Easy walk to Pubs and Cafes, and also to the lake. I would have no hesitation recommending this cottage and I would happily stay there again.

The cottage was very comfortable once we got settled. I asked for twin beds in one room as was advertised. When we arrived it was made up as a double. It was Sunday evening when this was sorted.

Very comfortable and clean cottage . Great central location. The kitchen could be better equipped e.g. no saucepan for cooking pasta, inadequate fridge and only a freezer compartment in the fridge.

Lovely place to stay and an ideal location, the cottage was clean and cosy. Parking space a bonus, but a bit tight if you have any of those giant SUV's at the side of you. Would recommend Ecclerigg cottage and we would stay there again.
