Enjoying an idyllic spot in the picturesque village of Braithwaite, this traditional cottage has been lovingly updated to provide cosy, warm and relaxing holiday accommodation for up to six guests.

This is a charming cottage for six in the heart of the popular village of Braithwaite. Dating back to the 17th century, original character features sit comfortably alongside the modern comforts you would hope for in a home from home; you really do have the best of both worlds here. The kitchen is well equipped, there's a separate dining room and a fantastic characterful living room with an open fire in the cottage's original inglenook fireplace. Upstairs on the first floor are the three bedrooms and two bathrooms, and outside there is parking for two cars to the front of the cottage as well as a raised garden to the rear.

Rightly popular with locals and holidaymakers alike, Braithwaite is a great place for a holiday and there is certainly plenty to see and do from the front door. Spend a day at nearby Whinlatter Forest Park. Adrenaline junkies will love the Go Ape High Ropes course, or why not walk an alpaca for something a little bit different?! Walk to the neighbouring village of Thornthwaite to check out the exhibits at Thornthwaite Galleries and Tearooms. Visit nearby Newlands Valley for a wealth of footpaths and stunning scenery, a beautiful area to truly destress and unwind in the fresh air. Stock up on supplies from the wonderful village shop or treat yourselves to supper out at one of the three pubs in the village.

Walk, cycle, take the bus or drive into Keswick, just 3 miles away, for a morning mooching round the independent and outdoor shops. Grab lunch to go from one of the local cafes and head down to Derwentwater to enjoy a lakeside picnic. Why not take a ride on the popular launch to see the water from a different perspective? Families will love a trip to the nearby Lake District Wildlife Park, or adults can treat themselves to a tour and tasting at the renowned Lakes Distillery.

Full of charm and character, this cottage dates back to the 17th century but has recently been completely refurbished throughout and now offers delightful accommodation for up to six people.

The country-style kitchen is well equipped with all the essentials you would need for a self catering holiday including an electric oven and hob, fridge and a handy microwave. Gather round the wooden dining table in the separate dining room; share stories about the day's events over a home cooked meal, or spread out maps and guide books to plan tomorrow's adventures.

Down three shallow steps from the dining room is the living room. With original beams, exposed brickwork and an open fire in the stunning inglenook fireplace, this room really is the heart of this home. The sofa and armchairs in here are perfectly positioned around the fire, and there's a Smart TV and a mini Hi-Fi system for entertainment too.

Upstairs on the first floor are the three bedrooms. First up we have the master bedroom; a spacious room with a metal-framed double bed that's perfect for indulging in a long lie in. This room also has a handy double wardrobe with drawers, as well as a beautiful feature fireplace. The second double bedroom is slightly smaller than the first but just as lovely. This room has characterful original beams, as well as its own en-suite shower room, which has a WC, washbasin and modern shower cubicle. Last but by no means least is the lovely twin room; another bright and spacious room with matching painted wardrobe and chest of drawers for storage.

Also on the first floor is the family bathroom which has a WC, wash basin and bath with shower over, ideal whether you prefer a relaxing soak in the bath or a refreshing shower.

As well as private parking for two cars in front of the cottage, to the rear is a delightful sloping garden. Accessed up six stone steps, this is a lovely spot to relax and unwind.

This is a beautiful tastefully renovated cottage with modern amenities which we found to be an excellent holiday home. Cosy and comfortable in the bad weather we suffered but with some excellent walks virtually from the doorstep.

The house was in a great location on the edge of the village and two minutes walk from a pub with a nice beer garden. It was wonderfully quiet at night. Inside it was renovated to a high standard and was very comfortable, apart from the mattresses.
