Eaglesfield is nestled in the heart of the beautiful Borrowdale Valley with views of the surrounding Northern Fells to the front, rear and side of the cottage. It sleeps up to four people and makes a perfect launch pad for all sorts of lake and mountain adventures, with two hotels open to non-residents and a cafe (frequented by Prince Charles, on his visits to the valley) within 200 meters from the cottage. The cottage features a front and rear lawned garden, enclosed by orginal dry stone walls and is situated on a quiet country lane, so passing traffic is minimal.
Borrowdale is a walker’s paradise with an unsurpassed choice of routes and climbs from family friendly Catbells or Castle Crag to the towering heights of Great Gable and the Scafells. The village of Rosthwaite offers the Scafell Hotel and Riverside bar, and the Flock Inn tea room which also sells household essentials and limited groceries.
Keswick is a 20 minute drive away, and is a jewel in the northern Lake District's crown situated on the shores of the incredibly picturesque Derwentwater. It's a vibrant market town with a wonderful atmosphere where you can indulge your wild side with any number of adventurous outdoor activities or pamper your taste buds with a huge range of eateries offering great local food and Cumbrian real ales.
