Directions

From the North

Exit M6 at Junction 40 and take the A66 Westbound towards Keswick.
Follow the A66 for 12 miles then take the left turn for the B5322 to Thirlmere
This road then joins the A591 to Ambleside
Once in Ambleside follow the one way system until the road splits into two where you take the right lane for the A593 to Consiton and Elterwater
Take the left lane to follow the A593 and follow this for a further 250m
Take the right slip road for the turning to Coniston, Hawkshead and Langdale
Follow the A593 for just over two miles to Skelwith Bridge
Take the right turn on to the B5343 to Elterwater and Langdale
You will reach the village of Chapel Stile in just over 2 miles
Carry on into the village with the Wainwright Inn on your left & the Co-op on your right. You’ll see the primary school on the left and a bus stop with a right turn up to the hill to the church
Daw Bank is the first cottage in the row on the left going up the hill
There is usually parking available in the lane outside the cottage but this is on a first come first served basis (it is best to park on the left hand side of the lane)

From the South

Exit the M6 at Junction 36
Take the A590 towards Barrow and Kendal awhich then becomes the A591 and follow this to Ambleside
Before going into the town centre of Ambleside take the left turning for the A593 to Consiton and Langdale
Follow this road for roughly 1/2 mile
Take the left turning to Coniston, Hawkshead and Langdale
Follow the A593 for just over two miles to Skelwith Bridge
Take the right turn on to the B5343 to Elterwater and Langdale
You will reach the village of Chapel Stile in just over 2 miles
