Our family of 4 plus dog all dearly loved this cottage. The remoteness of the location fulfilled our need for complete relaxation. Wonderful walking right from the door, with fab amenities in Braithwaite and Keswick. My husband missed an iron and board - I didn’t! Sad to see this cottage will only sleep two in the future. Will need to wait for the kids to leave home before we can return!

Hello Ann, Thank you for your lovely feedback. You couldn't have picked a better location for escaping the hustle and bustle for a while and recharging the batteries. I bet your dog enjoyed the fabulous walks too! You made me chuckle over the iron and board, however I will look into this further. It is down to the individual owner(s) with regards to the number of occupants in a cottage, however if you need any help in finding the perfect cottage for you all in the future, please let me know. Here's to the next Lakes adventure!

It's a lovely cottage and a good choice. I found the double bed too soft and one of the sofas uncomfortable but that was just my opinion.
Well equipped, beautiful surroundings, friendly owner and it didn't rain for a week even in October.

Hi Rob, a rain free week in October - how lucky is that? Great to hear that you had such a fantastic time! Come back and see us again soon!

Woohoo our Superb Second Stay at Darling How.
What an absolute jewel of a place in a magnificent setting.
My husband and I and our two dogs enjoyed another fantastic week staying here. Philip made us very welcome and it is very well equipped, stylish inside with a log burner too!
With a shower and a bath it has everything you need for a stay in the Lake District, close to Cockermouth and not too far to Keswick it's a great base to climb The Northern Fells from.
Whinlatter is an amazing place and you could easily walk from Darling How in a different direction every day and not have to drive anywhere!!!

Philip and Femke have thought of everything and we will definitely be booking again for next year.
Once again thanks to The Team at Sally's Cottages who are always on the ball.

See you next year Darling How!!!!!
