General description

A gated entrance allows you to drive into the property's grounds which are shared with the adjoining Orchard Cottage. Separate parking areas are offered to both properties with the slate driveway leading around the side of Damson cottage where parking is possible just to the right of the front door. A paved outdoor seating area is positioned to the front of the cottage which can be accessed from the main entrance and a side door directly from the lounge area.

Inside the front door, you find yourself in an open-plan living space. The lounge area benefits from two comfortable leather sofas and a flat-screen TV, DVD player and Sky system. The cottage also offers high speed broadband. At the far end of the room is the open-plan kitchen area which offers a delightful space to cook while still been able to chat with the rest of your family and friends. The kitchen is well-equipped with plenty of cooking equipment, crockery and glassware, and the small window above the sink offers views across the garden. There is an electric fan oven, four electric hobs and a dishwasher in the kitchen, and an archway leads to a well-equipped utility room where you'll find a microwave, under counter fridge and freezer, washing machine and dryer, as well as an ironing board and iron, and a selection of books and games for guests to enjoy. The dining table, also in the same open-plan living space, seats six people comfortably, and behind it, a deep window seat with a scattering of cushions provides a lovely view over the small orchard at the rear.

The main living space, like the rest of this quirky property, is packed full of rustic charm. From the original lintels on view above the windows and doors to the visible pitched roof and exposed beams and stonework, this lovely cottage offers glimpses of its heritage, while providing comfortable and homely accommodation.

Left of the main entrance is a walkway through to the master bedroom; a spacious double room with exposed beams, a large, disused stone feature fireplace and tiny, quirky cubby holes in the walls. Storage is provided by way of a wardrobe, bedside tables and a set of deep drawers. This delightful dual aspect room has views over the front and rear of the property, and a back door opening onto the cobbled lane which leads to the neighbouring farmyard. This bedroom benefits from having an ensuite shower room comprising a toilet, washbasin and shower cubicle with restricted head height.

Outside the master bedroom, three stone steps lead to the main staircase to the first floor. Directly at the top of the stairs is the family bathroom, complete with over-shower bath, toilet, washbasin and heated towel rail. The room is flooded with light from the overhead skylight. The two double bedrooms are positioned at the back of the property and offer views over the adjacent orchard and surrounding countryside. Each room offers comfortable accommodation and storage and is packed with character features. They both benefit from impressively high ceilings and exposed beams. Back on the landing, a low beam sweeps across the top of the doors to the bathroom and one of the double bedrooms which is perhaps worth pointing out to taller guests.

Outside, the front of the property is surrounded by a well-kept, cottage-style garden and a small patio with a picnic table provides a lovely place to sit and enjoy the tranquility of this idyllic location.
