A beautiful stunning location with tons of Wildlife, quiet and cottage steeped in history. I was a fan of Hugh's and enjoyed his study, i could feel his presence honestly!
Aga was great and we had brilliant time cooking on it, dog loved the spacious garden and all new smells, picked up a few ticks so dog owners beware, but its the countryside anyway!!
Advice, take midge repellent as little buggers are ferocious in evening lol.
Expect a few spiders and odd beetle, i found a huge Stag beetle one morning in study lol.
Owners are brilliant and on call, very friendly farm neighbours. Lots of night country sounds, sleep with window open and listen too Owls.....magic.
We are convinced there may be a ghost, doors closing by themselves, lights going on and off and footsteps early hours on stairs, wife seen a shadow crossing the landing in half sleep tho that might of been me after a few beers lol.
Really enjoyed it and yes i will be back again next year maybe in Winter to experience it.......loved it as will you if you like solitude and sounds of the countryside.

Hi Alan, thank you for taking the time to write a review. It sounds like you had a wonderful holiday! It's the perfect place to escape from the hustle and bustle for a while isn't it? I bet your dog loved it with all those amazing walks on the doorstep! Until next time!

We had a great time….sitting in the sunshine in the evening was so peaceful …..and our grandson had great fun in the garden with our two dogs .
We loved the cottage and the range in the dining room was just right in the evening for taking the chill off after the sun went down .
Bit disappointed there were no towel supplied as I forgot ours and had to use one borrowed from our daughter until we were able to buy some .
Overall a great time was had by all.

A traditional Lakeland cottage in a beautiful peaceful location yet only 10 minutes drive from local villages and amenities. A very special place for those who revere the late Hugh Falkus, the 'God' of sea trout fishing whose study is more or less as he left it.
The interior of the cottage is warm and confortable as are the beds, the only improvement would be a second bathroom.

Hello Michael, It's the perfect place to relax and recharge the batteries, isn't it? Here's to getting away from it all more often!
