This charming cottage lies in the heart of the Lake District National Park. It’s ideal for families or friends who enjoy amenities nearby, surrounded by glorious countryside to explore.

A warm welcome to this charming terraced house for four right in the heart of the much-loved Lakeland town of Keswick. Within easy walking distance of everything the town has to offer it makes a perfect holiday base for exploring this area. The owners have made the most of the traditional elements of the cottage to give a homey feel while using light decor, modern furnishings and striking local photography to add to the ambience.

Keswick is well known for its stunning surroundings and adventure opportunities. The town lies on the shores of beautiful Derwentwater and you can catch one of the stately launches that travel around the lake just a five minute walk away. Alternatively, don your walking boots and get out and about on the fells surrounding the town. There's everything from easy, family-friendly fells to Lakeland giants for you to try. Right on the doorstep you have a wonderful choice of things to do. Just across the street is the delightful Alhambra Cinema, an art deco treat of a building with current film releases and indie films regularly shown, while the wonderfully situated Theatre By The Lake is just a gentle stroll from the house. Of course there's also a fantastic range of pubs, restaurants, cafes and shops an easy potter from the door too.

If you'd like to explore further out of town there's plenty more to see and do. History buffs will be enchanted by ancient Castlerigg Stone Circle sitting high above Keswick and also Mirehouse, a marvellous stately home with literary connections situated along Bassenthwaite. Whinlatter Forest Park is also not far out of town where you can explore their woodland trails on foot or bike or even get high up in the forest canopy on a Go Ape high ropes course. Whether outdoor adventure, eating out or just curling up by an open fire are your holiday goals then this cottage should fit the bill.

This cottage has a lovely period feel about it with some traditional features, while being decorated in a fresh modern style with lots of inspiring local photography adorning the walls.

On arrival at the property guests enter via the courtyard at the rear via a side gate. The back door opens into the well-equipped kitchen. This has gas hobs, a fitted fan oven, microwave, compact fridge/freezer, slimline dishwasher, washer/dryer and all the crockery and cookware you'll need for your stay. There's plenty of kitchen cupboard space as well as a very handy larder cupboard with wine rack and space for coats and shoes.

Moving through to the delightful living/dining room you'll find it's a lovely light space with wooden flooring, a stone fireplace with open fire and two traditional windows to watch the world going by. There are two leather sofas for curling up around the fire and a Smart TV with Freeview and a DVD for entertainment. On the other side of the room there is a round dining table for four, ideal for post meal chats about your Lakeland adventures.

Moving up the corner staircase from here you'll find the spacious master bedroom. This has a king-size wooden bed frame, a wardrobe and dresser for storage along with a lovely sash window with a view to the nearby church spire. The twin room is across the hall which also shares the same rooftop view which you can enjoy from its window seat. It also has a wardrobe and chest of drawers. The bathroom is also on this floor. This has a recessed full-size bath, which is perfect for soaking away tired muscles after big fell walks, and a mixer shower in a large rectangular enclosure.

Outside the cottage has a delightful rear courtyard with climbing plants, antique outdoor sinks filled with flowers and a small dining table. You can lock bikes out in this area too (you will need to provide your own lock). The courtyard has shared access via the side gate with the property next door.

Lovely home from home. Clever storage. Perfectly situated. So very clean and warm with an amazing shower and log burner. The walk to the car with 2 dogs made for a pleasant opportunity to take in the joys of Hope Park and provide a chance to choose the evening restaurant. Confident we will make this cottage a part of a future holiday.
