Part of a complex of properties, your accommodation is a comfortable retreat packed with home comforts and more than a few hints of luxury. The decor is decidedly county-cottage chic complete with a fresh colour scheme, a crisp-dressed bed and elegant furnishing. Picture candlelit suppers at the table that’s perfect for two, enjoying meals prepared in the handy kitchen area with its single-ring hob, fridge/freezer, and microwave. There’s also a shower room for refreshing yourself after an active day exploring. Outside, your private decked patio is a sanctuary for an evening glass of wine or a spot of stargazing in the hot tub.

Known for being the largest Roman monument in Europe, the remnants of this iconic landmark provides endless scope for walking and hiking close by. The ancient Gelt Woods (6.5 miles) are ethereal and enchanting for visitors too, or why not muster up your courage and try water sports at Talkin Tarn Country Park (8 miles). Canoeing, wild swimming and windsurfing are all possible, or why not charter a rowing boat and take in the views from the water. Brampton is a 3-mile drive away and has plenty of shops and eateries to peruse including a fine selection of pubs.

We had a wonderful stay at the Hadrians Hideaway pod. My partner and I felt very welcomed. Our dog Otis was also provided with a towel and dog blanket, which we thought was a lovely added extra. A fantastic place to stay for a couple wanting some downtime and to relax. The hot tub was great, bed was comfy (if not a tad small) and the surroundings are great to wake up to on a nice day.

Beautifully clean and you have everything you need for your stay. Lovely interior with high quality curtains, cushions, towels etc. My dog loved his stay and was a good experience for him been a pup. Lovely surroundings and views. The weather was kind to us during our stay. Overall a really lovely relaxing stay.

We are returning customers and each visit to the Hideaway is really enjoyable. So many positives to cite including quiet location, comfortable accommodation and our dogs are so calm here. Headswood Farm Pods are a perfect location for a get away from it all break. Simon (owner) is very helpful with ideas for walks and eating out. The pods are well fitted out and the bed is super comfy. Nearby Brampton has a food hall and the we would recommend the topside and cheese burgers! WOW! Stayed here for 3 nights for my partners birthday and they did not disappoint! Simon was so lovely and very welcoming. His site is quiet and peaceful with beautiful surrounding areas. Lovely pod, nice view across the fields and not too far to the nearest pub for a meal. Simon was there to meet us on arrival and had plenty of useful local information which was very welcome. Only had one minor problem which was dealt with before we got back from our walk. Excellent service and spotless cabin.

Amazing location/setting and excellent accommodation. The inside was beautifully furnished, excellent bathroom but very basic cooking facilities. Took a wok pan it was invaluable. The pods are beautifully decorated, spotlessly clean and well equipped. The location is directly onto Hadrian's Wall Path and has fantastic views. It's so peaceful - all you can hear are sheep and birdsong. Simon us very welcoming and full of helpful advice on walks and places to visit.

We went to Headswood on the wall to relax and we were able to do exactly that, what a wonderful place. Absolutely loved our stay at hadrians hideaway could not rate it anymore. Lovely scenery and very handy for walks. Landlord was very helpful at pointing out the best place to go and really nice! My only fault was not booking for longer! Enjoyed every minute and have already recommended to friends!

The Lake District National Park is situated in the north west of England in the county of Cumbria. It is famously home to England’s tallest peak, largest lake, deepest lake and some of the most beautiful views in the British Isles. It has been a major draw for holidaymakers for over 200 years and its popularity shows no signs that this will diminish anytime soon. Adding to the spectacle, there are long-distance walking trails, endless history and culture to appreciate, as well as an unbeatable array of outdoor activities to try in some exceptionally eye-catching locations.

Mountains, lakes, rocky rivers, waterfalls, and valleys lined by stone walls characterise the Lake District National Park. Add to this vision slate-roofed villages, winding country roads, arctic alpine and wildflower meadows, and beautiful birds such as skylarks, curlews, meadow pipits, and lapwings, which all provide the perfect backdrop for a holiday. The poet, William Wordsworth, who lived in Grasmere, wrote a guidebook of the area in 1810, and very little has changed in the region to tie it into the modern world. The centre of the Lake District is dominated by its craggy mountains such as Scafell Pike and its exceptional lakes like Windermere, Ullswater, Derwentwater, Coniston Water and so many more.

Each of the Lake District’s towns has a village sensibility, yet all of them offer handy amenities, cultural attractions and some of the North West’s best places to eat and drink. Top visitor attractions include The World of Beatrix Potter, Sizergh Castle, Hill Top, Go Ape Grizedale, Grizedale Forest, Fellini and Zefferelli’s Cinema/Restaurants, the Bluebird Mk II, Ravenglass Roman Bathouse alongside a world of outdoor sporting and activity providers. Natural landmarks include Aira Force, Tarn Hows, Scaffell Pike, Castlerigg Stone Circle, The Old Man of Coniston, Helvellyn and Skiddaw. Pull on your walking boots and traverse the long-distance walking trails of the Lakes like Wainwright’s Coast to Coast, and the Tour of the Lake District.

As you get to know the region better, you will find evidence of prehistoric and ancient man in the Lake District, as there are standing stones, circles, and rows to find, as well as one of the largest standing Roman buildings in the UK. Visit Ravenglass, one of the UK’s oldest settlements and the only coastal village in the Lake District; it has beautiful waterside views of the Munros of Southern Scotland. Remnants of the region’s industrial activity can be traced in the form of bobbin mills, gunpowder mills, and mines. The Lakes also have some famous literary and art associations, including Beatrix Potter, John Ruskin, Arthur Ransome, Samuel Taylor Coleridge, William Wordsworth, JMW Turner, John Constable, LS Lowry and Percy Kelly.
