A delightful property sleeping four guests, this apartment is located in a country house with great scenic walks and views from the doorstep. Explore the Lake District’s mountains, fells and lakes from this enviable location with your family.

Situated over one floor, this accommodation is brimming with contemporary charm. The open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner has fantastic views over the surrounding area, towards the lake and woodlands beyond. Binoculars for the guests have kindly been provided to help you admire the wildlife, too. Warm up in front of the electric fire as you watch a film, or rustle up a delicious meal in the well-equipped kitchen to eat together on the dining table. When you are ready for some sleep, choose from one of two en-suite bedrooms. Outside the property, you have access to the estate’s spectacular gardens to explore. The children can play on the climbing frame and the whole family can get competitive at the pitch and putt or table tennis.

The nearby village of Hawkshead (1.5 miles) has a cafe and shop, and the school that William Wordsworth attended. Enjoy water sports or shoreside walks around Esthwaite Water, or head 2.5 miles to Lake Windermere. Jump on the boats that head up and down the lake, and stop off at Ambleside (6.5 miles) for a great range of shops, restaurants and pubs. Visit Bowness-on-Windermere (11 miles) for the enchanting attraction, The World of Beatrix Potter. If you prefer to walk or hike, climb The Old Man of Coniston (6 miles) or England’s tallest mountain, Scafell Pike (10 miles).

We would highly recommend this apartment. The location is sensational. The views, the grounds, the local area are all absolutely stunning. Stepping outside I could hear water and came across a stream and waterfall. My children used the pitch and put. Again, lots of equipment available to use. A beautiful place to stay! We had a wonderful time staying at Broomriggs, we really appreciated a tour around the property beforehand and to be shown all the helpful features (drying room, oars for the boat etc). My family and I stayed in Broomriggs 2 and we're more than happy with everything about it. We loved the views from the living room and bedroom window. Superb location with wonderful grounds to wander in. Extremely comfortable with everything needed for a holiday. So many places to visit and we had multiple viewings of the osprey during our week there. Highly recommended especially in May

Broomriggs is wonderfully located and suits many types of families/couples, with or without children. The situation, ambiance and overall setting are superb. So much so that we have returned year after year for over twenty years. This year we were a little disappointed that the heating hadnt been turned on prior to our visit and there was no internet availability. The apartment is fabulous - there are breathtaking views down to the lake and across to coniston, the living and sleeping spaces are super comfortable. The kitchen is really well equipped, couldnt ask for more really! Fabulous views, lovely apartment, friendly and helpful caretaker, walks from the door, rowing boat to see Ospreys, table tennis, golf putting. Thoroughly enjoyed peacefully watching the sun set over the hills and spotting bats!

A fantastic property in a beautiful location. I chose this ground floor apartment as I was looking for accommodation with level access and minimal stairs for my elderly parents. Inside the apartment the accommodation is all on one level with only one internal step from the hall. We managed perfectly well.
