Lovely cottage, in a very peacful location where you can really escape from the daily hussle and bustle of life. Many trails & walks in and around the local area/Grizedale Forest, or take a 15 minute drive into Hawkshead, a very picturesque, historic village with pubs, shops & cafes. Bobtail serves as a good base to visit many parts of the lake disRead moretrict such as Coniston, Ambleside, Windemere, Keswick all between 20-60 minutes drive away and access to many beautiful walks. We had a lovely stay. Hide

Nice cottage in a remote area of the Lake District. A few things need attention but overall a lovely place. Welcome pack of tea, coffee, biscuits and chocolates was a lovely touch. Lovely walks nearby and great pub food in the local pub.

Great stay at Bobtail Cottage. Very quiet location but within close walking distance to a great little pub and also close to all the activities in Grizedale Forest - trails, go-ape and segways! Also near to best places in the South Lakes - but away from the crowds. Would recommend highly.

Lovely views and walk from the cottage, local pub is friendly and reasonably priced. Parking is very tight, so make sure your a confident driver. Bring fly spray as there is ALOT around. All in all if your looking for a comfortable place to sleep and not spend too much time then I would recommend.
