Located in the centre of the popular town of Hawkshead, this well-presented, spacious cottage is perfect for friends or families who want to explore the Lake District National Park. Packed with history and interest, Hawkshead has a range of independent shops and eateries within its car-free, cobbled streets, but is also surrounded by the stunning natural beauty you’d expect from the Lakes. With walking and cycling routes from your doorstep, as well as a wealth of other activities nearby, outdoor enthusiasts will be well-placed to get their adrenaline fix.

Beautifully styled, this light and airy cottage is welcoming and comfortable, whilst the odd pop of colour and pattern adds a sense of charm. The handy porch leads into the open-plan living area, which consists of a cosy lounge, a well-equipped, modern kitchen and ample dining space for everyone. Upstairs, there are two immaculate bedrooms (a king-size and a twin), whilst a lovely family bathroom completes the accommodation. French doors from the dining area lead out to a small enclosed patio, which is ideal for alfresco dining during the warmer months.

A popular destination for visitors to the Lakes, Hawskhead is located to the north of Esthwaite Water. The town has connections with well-loved writers Beatrix Potter and William Wordsworth, and Beatrix Potter’s house, Hill Top, can be visited in Near Sawrey (2.5 miles). For those looking for more of an adventure, head to Grizedale Forest (3.5 miles) where activities such as mountain biking, tree-climbing and high ropes are on offer. Complete your visit to the Lakes with a visit to Lake Windermere (4 miles), where you can get the ferry across to the larger town of Bowness-on-Windermere (10 miles).

This lovely cottage is set in beautiful Hawkshead village. It has all the amenities myself, my husband & our 16 y/o daughter needed, for a 5 night stay, we definitely could have stayed longer! Would love to visit again, maybe in the summer, to appreciate the surroundings more. Parking outside the cottage wasn't an issue. We had an EV, and the chargRead moreers in the public car park were both broken. Closest place we found was Booths at Windermere. Hide

Lovely cottage situated close to the centre of the village. You could park your car for the week and enjoy walks from the village every day. While we were visiting only one pub was open with others undergoing refurbishment. We are considering returning in the autumn.

Good cottage in very pretty village. Inside very clean and well decorated, comfortable furniture and beds. Good shower in the en-suite. Didn't want to come home in spite of some very wet weather in the week. Would book again.

The cottage is very welcoming and warm, perfect for the two of us; its a family home with personal touches. The parking space a bit tight for our SUV but much appreciated. Welcoming pack very nice. Thank you. We had a brilliant time even on the day with pouring rain. We loved this place and are going to book again next spring. Highly recommend.

The 2nd time we have stayed in this cottage in the heart of Hawkshead. A good size downstairs with a lovely dining area, plenty of room for 4 adults. Main bedroom is a good size with a smaller room with 2 single beds. The smaller room is pretty cosy. We will definitely stay again.
